Jason Dominy was a pleasure to communicate with. He went above & beyond to finalise my query and then tried to assist me with benefits to my profile and the best way forward.
Outsurance - when your consultants are knowledgeable and are willing to assist and go the extra mile explaining and looking for a solution, it makes all the difference. Thank You SHARISSE SAUNDERS., you are an absolute gem to speak to and your professionalism is OUTSTANDING. may you be rewarded for the work which you do.
I a wrote a complaint regarding the recent increase in my insurance premium from R816 to R1102 — a staggering increase of 35%. When I called the consultants to query this, I was told twice that the increase is due to a single claim for a cracked bath in December. The consultant further explained that Outsurance had received just over R10,000 in premiums from me, and because the bath claim cost just over R9,000, the premium increase was implemented to basically recover the funds and ensure funds for future claims. (in essence) Frankly, I find this explanation deeply concerning. This justification makes it seem as though Outsurance is operating more like a loan recovery company than an insurer. I was under the impression that I had insurance coverage — not a pay-back-later system. If this is truly how claims are evaluated — i.e., by comparing premiums paid against claim value — then what happens if I ever need to claim for something major, like storm damage to my roof costing R300,000? Or worse, a total house fire? Should I expect my premiums to increase by 3000% then? Had I known that claiming for the bath would result in this excessive increase, I would have simply paid for the repair myself out-of-pocket. This approach feels misleading and borderline punitive. I cannot afford such an increase, and I believe it is neither reasonable nor in line with the fair treatment of policyholders. I requested that they re-evaluate this increase, provide me with a clear breakdown of the risk-based reasoning behind the new premium, and inform me of any formal process to appeal or escalate this matter further. I received an answer ...... At the present moment, this is the best rate that can be offered to you. The explanation given by the consultant does cover the re-rate process and how the risk ratings work. The biggest factor impacting your policy re-rate is the age of your policy, combined with your actual loss ratio. It is important to keep in mind although you might be experiencing a premium increase, we have also adjusted the sum insured based in the inflation rates and are also covering you for a higher value. My apologies, that we could not do anything more to lower the rates on you policy, however if you would to have a telephonic conversation further on the matter, please let me know when I should call you. FOR ONE CLAIM FOR A CRACKED BATH, my premium increases over 35%!!!!!!! Then to top it of I just received another call from Outsurance, from another consultant, with no new information, no new decision, just to indicate THE EXACT SAME THING. Well Done Outsurance, you just made my blood pressure boil AGAIN. New SLOGAN, WELCOME TO OUTSURANCE where we waste your time & money & resolve NOTHING! SAD PART! I was always an Outsurance fan, always recommended them to others and never had a bad thing to say about them. This Outsurance is how you will lose loyal clients.

Giselle was fantastic. The service was impeccable and I received the shoes before I needed to fly. Gives a person a real sense of hope that customer service has not died in SA. My fiancée absolutely loves the shoes and we will definitely be buying again. Again Giselle, Thank you so Much for your awesome service.
I am a seller on TakeALot. I have been selling through them since February 2022 The returns policy states: 1: Unwanted products You can return an unwanted product to us at no charge, provided: it is undamaged and unused, with the original labels and stickers still attached; save in relation to Unboxed Deals, reconditioned products and used products, it is in the original packaging, which must be undamaged and in its original condition with all seals still intact (if applicable). Please refer to our FAQs for some examples; it is not missing any accessories or parts; you log a return on the Website within 30 days of delivery to you or collection by you of the unwanted product. After 30 days, you can only return a product if it is defective; Defective products We do our best to ensure that the products we deliver to you are of a high quality, and in good working order and without defects. What is a defect? A defect is a material imperfection in the manufacture of a product or any characteristic of a product, which makes the product less acceptable than one would reasonably be entitled to expect in the circumstances. Please refer to our FAQs for some examples. The following will NOT be regarded as defects and will not entitle you to a return under this section 3: faults resulting from normal wear and tear; damage arising from negligence, user abuse or incorrect usage of the product; However TakeALot are not sticking to their OWN returns policy and passing return losses onto the sellers. Items are used, or damaged from customer neglect and the seller takes the loss, if at any stage TakeALot admit to the mistake, the seller is only reinbursed 5% of the price which does not even cover the cost of the item. HOWEVER THEY still score as the fulfillment cost is not reimbursed, so in actual fact the seller covers ALL THE COST RELATED to the item. Best of all, the item can not be resold, even if in a state to be resold) as TAKEALOT have placed stickers all over the packaging or written all over the packaging making it unsellable. Another case of a big fish business trampling on small business with no regard to their own failures and short comings. NEWEST trend in returns, customer buys expensive item, then returns as changed my mind and physically returns a cheaper or counterfeit product. LOSS ONCE AGAIN TO SELLER. Does not help to log a query with Takealot as they do not answer queries or the logged ticket disputes.
