My husband passed away and my daughter send SABC a notice that he passed away, and including the Estate letter and Death Certificate. Every year she still paid as if he was still with us until the Estate was finalized. Last year we still made the payment of R78.00 on 15 August 2024 in my husband's name as the license expire in August every year. Then we noticed that the Estate didn't change the TV Licence to my name after is was finalized. We then take it upon ourselves to change the TV License into my name. SABC then informed me that I still need to pay R85.40 for 2024/2025. On 3 October 2024 I paid the amount using my banking app. On the banking app there is 4 branch options to pay. I selected the one that I always use to pay SABC. I send proof of payment to renewals@sabc.co.za. Now since beginning of February we get daily sms notifications and e-mails from VVM Debt Collectors telling me that I still owe R122.40. I phoned them and the person of VVM had the audacity telling me that if I don't pay they will take my property from me and then slammed the phone down in my ear. When I phoned again, to talk to the manager, they didn't want me to. I even phoned SABC Renewals and they said the account shows in arrears, but I must send emails. Ever since then we send e-mails to VVM, SABC Tv Renewals and SABC itself. They keep ignoring my read request, don't want to accept my proof of payments (So actually we paid 2 times last year and now we are according to them still in arrears). Proof is proof. How can they ignore a proof of payment. I'm not going to pay this arrears as it's not me who is in the wrong. I'm fed-up with the harra*****t of SABC TV Licenses and VVM Debt Collectors.
