We bought new appliances from Hirsch's Hillcrest in June and Hirsch's delivered the items on the 29th of July. At the time of the purchase, the salesman told us that he would also include a wok stand as we had just spent a significant sum buying all of our new kitchen appliances from Hirsh's in one go. At the time of the delivery we were still living in chaos mid-renovation and I was unfortunately out of country on the day of the delivery. The delivery driver and his assistant placed the boxes in the corner of our garage and they only opened the box for the oven for my partner to half inspect in the box before she signed the delivery note for receipt of all four appliances. Notably, there was no wok stand included and my partner was rather disappointed at the realisation that the Hirsch's salesman had **** to us to force the sale. Unknowingly to her at the time, she should have asked for all four boxes to be unpacked with the items taken out of their boxes, lifted up and rotated 360 degrees for her to have performed a full inspection. In early September our kitchen contractors opened the boxes for the appliances and found that the microwave door was completely shattered with the metal frame severely bent and there was notably no blue protective film on any of the metal frames. The extractor was also badly bent and upon closer inspection there appears to be a manufacturing defect with the face of the frame not aligning flush with the rest of the frame. We took the issue up with Hirsch's immediately and they contacted Bosch to come on site to inspect the microwave and the extractor. Three weeks have now passed and the only information we've received to date is that Bosch won't be repairing the items under warranty. Since then, our kitchen contractors have finished and left site. Our electricians haven't been able to finish wiring up the kitchen and scullery areas and we're still waiting on Hirsch's to make a decision about "repairing" the appliances. The bottom line is that we thought we bought new appliances from Hirsch's and now it would appear to us that we are being strong armed by a dishonest salesman into accepting faulty goods for which we must now also pay to have repaired because my partner didn't open the boxes on the day of delivery and lift up each of the appliances out of the boxes by herself to inspect them. Needless to say we will never be using Hirsch's ever again and I would strongly urge anyone who ever buys from Hirsch's in future to inspect your appliances (360 degree inspection) before signing any delivery notes of any kind.
ReliableStore.co.za is a 100% scam. I ordered a FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer on the 16th of April 2022 with vacuum sealer bags. Delivery of the order eventually happended on the 28th of June 2022, however, what was delivered was a fake Chinese vacuum sealer that didn't even come in a box! Furthermore, the fake Chinese vacuum sealer is merely a model that doesn't work. Why did they even bother sending anything? Wow. I've tried calling Reliable Store to discuss this but their phone lines are fake. Reliable Store is a total scam.
I have honestly never dealt with such a lazy insurance broker in my entire career! Our policy documents show that 15% of our business insurance premiums go to this incredibly lazy broker as commission. Yet I can't for the life of me figure out how she can justify her commission given that she's done absolutely nothing for more than 3 years! Our policy schedule doesn't match up to our business assets and a brand new company SUV that was purchased in April this year is now replaced by a Ford Figo. Yes, a R465,000 SUV = Ford Figo for car hire! We've never once complained about the price of our premiums and we've never tried to cut corners with our cover. We've paid the highest rates for the worst possible service and our insurance cover doesn't match up to any of our assets. When we asked as to how this happened we got an arrogant response stating that we should have checked our insurance cover ourselves. I mean really, what's the point of having an insurance broker if they couldn't be bothered to assist in at least matching your assets to your cover? Are all insurance providers really this lazy?
Wow. Where to begin. In August 2017 we reached the point of no return with our Telkom DSL line as it seemed as if we were experiencing technical difficulties just about every second day for 3 straight months. Rather than dump Telkom we decided to upgrade our DSL package to a LTE contract and in the process we would just cancel our existing DSL contract. Before taking up the DSL contract we got confirmation from a Telkom agent at the Liberty Midlands Mall that we could cancel the DSL contract and she informed us that we would probably have to pay for one months subscription as a notice period. I sent the cancellation documents to Telkom in August 2017 and on the very same day almost within hours our DSL data was cut off and it appeared as though the cancellation had been successful. Low and behold! Despite out line and data being cancelled, Telkom continued to bill us every month from August 2017 and despite me personally going in to the Telkom shop at the Liberty Midlands Mall, phoning the call centre, using the online chat function and phoning the Telkom call centre, my account was billed over R7,000 which is now in arrears. Great, at least I never paid Telkom any money. I wish it were as simple as that. After fraudulently billing me for absolutely no services provided, Telkom went and logged my "arrears" account balance with the national credit network which has affected my personal credit score. Our business is currently locked in a sale agreement and trying to raise bond finance which we're being denied because of my fraudulent Telkom account. You'd think that Telkom would be able to rectify an incorrect billing account within 30 days. No chance! It's been 9 months and Telkom is no closer to clearing my account today as they were in August last year. I wouldn't recommend Telkom to anyone. They are without doubt the most useless and careless company in South Africa.

The website claims to have a tracking service but it doesn't work for third party suppliers which is the majority of items sold. No tracking or updates were provided for my purchase and it was delivered long after the suggested delivery time of 9 working days! Yuppiechef is by far the slowest South African online store, would be faster to order by post!

I recently hired a vehicle from Avis at Cpt Airport and took delivery after 22:00 at night. The agent was friendly and we did a 10 second walk around the vehicle in the dark to point out that there was no obvious damage before I took possession. He also stated that if I found any damage that I should report it to Avis when returning the vehicle. The next morning we noticed a TINY chip on the back rear bumper when loading luggage into the boot. After our trip we returned the vehicle and I pointed out the tiny chip on the back rear of the bumper to which the inspecting agent said not to worry and that I should just sign the relevant forms which he gave me. To my absolute disgust Avis have now billed me for reporting the chip, which I can 100% guarantee was not incurred whilst the vehicle was in my possession. Furthermore I've tried to contact Avis to tell them the story and follow up on the paperwork but they are utterly uninterested in following the facts stating that I signed certain 15 page documents in the dark and now I'm liable to pay R1 222.10 excluding VAT for a TINY bumper chip plus R260 admin fees! Never in my life have I dealt with such a blatantly fraudulent company!
