I used to think Peugeot Northcliff was so great. Little did I know that every time I took my car in for service and paid over R4000, these people were doing nothing but washing my car. I paid over R4000 for a car wash. Last month I took my car in because the battery was giving me issues and it wouldn’t start sometimes. They charged me R4000 to tell me that nothing was wrong with the car. A week later, my car wouldn’t start at all. I decided to take my car to Bosch in Randburg where they found 7 issues with the car, INCLUDING the battery! One of the issues was an oil leak that was caused by Peugeot Umhlanga in 2017. This Peugeot Northcliff never picked it up in the two years. Bosch found it while looking for a battery issue. Needless to say, I am never going back there again.
I am extremely pleasantly surprised with Witkoppen antenatal clinic. I am almost six months pregnant with my first child and I had initially wasted thousands of rands on a gynecologist who did nothing but play pictionary with the ultrasound scanner and give me pictures of the baby. I had also tried Randburg clinic. They unfortunately played into every public health institution stereotype. We waited for an hour for an admin clerk who had decided to go to Cambridge to buy her home groceries during work hours. When she did arrive, she turned us away. By the time I went to Witkoppen I was disillusioned with the healthcare system and on the verge of giving up on ANC and just thought I would figure things out when the baby came. My partner convinced me to go to Witkoppen as a last ditch attempt. We were turned away on the 2nd because we arrived at 10am. We were told to return the next day before 7am. We arrived on 3 January 2017 at 6:15am, received a number and waited in line. While waiting in line, one of the nurses gave us a 15 minute briefing of exactly what would be done the entire day and for what reasons. We received tet**** shots, had urine and blood tests done. Also had weight and height measurements. During the physical examination, I was stripped naked and had eyes, ears, nose, mouth, armpits, hands, chest, back, fetus length, fetal heartbeat, bowel movement and ******l inspections. Believe or not, I never received this from the private gynae. The staff were really helpful and professional, especially the more mature ladies. Surprisingly, it was the young staff in their 20s who were crass and rude and seemed to be high on some delusional power trip. Like most public institutions, I was there the whole day until exactly 4pm. The ultrasound scanner was also archaic, couldn't make out the baby at all. But I am super happy with the service at Witkoppen. I would recommend the ANC to everyone who needs it. The first two visits are R110, the third R55 and then its free.
I am going on UNPAID maternity leave for five months from April 2018. I called ABSA to inform them of this and to ask that they pause my payments or restructure my repayments so that I do not default. The call centre lady told me that she cannot do anything until I default. So what I need to do is wait for the end of April when I will be unable to pay the installment. Absa will debit my account and the payment will return unpaid. When that happens they will then call me to arrange restructuring. Naturally my concerns were that if I default: (1) I have to pay the fee associated with the lack of funds in my account and, (2) my credit record will be negatively affected by my default in payment. The lady said there is nothing they can do and proceeded to abruptly end my call. What mad nonsense is this??

I have had my car for three years and have been getting it serviced at Peugeot Northcliff for both minor and major service. Not once have I had a problem with my car.

My service plan ran out last year and I simultaneously moved to Durban. I had to get my car serviced and took it to Peugeot Umhlanga three days ago. I paid R3900 for a major service, R600 of which went to oil stuff.

I took my car home and when I started it in the evening, the service light blinked on and an oil alert came up on the screen. Now not knowing car things, I thought it was a fluke.

Next thing I know, three days later my car is hemorrhaging oil in the middle of a mall parking lot. Being the clueless person I am about cars, I didn't even know what to do because Peugeot is closed on weekends.

Not only did I pay thousands of rands to get my car broken, now I'll probably incur additional costs to get this fixed.
