On Sunday 4 June I purhased some items from Rochester Furnishers in Woodmead. I paid with my credit card. I decided they were not suitable so on Tuesday 6 June I cancelled the deal before they were delivered. I went to the store and completed a refund form. On 8 June I received a mail asking me to submit my ID document plus a letter from my bank or bank statement. Although my drivers licence was acceptable when I bought the goods, it was not good enough when I cancelled the deal. They would not refund the credit card despite the fact that that is how I paid for the goods, insisting that they only pay refunds into a bank account. I have written to the manager Ian Oates several times, visited the store and am still waiting for my refund. I also wrote to the JD head office on 8 June and have not had a reply. This company clearly does not want to refund my money and I would advise anyone wanting to deal with them to do so with extreme caution.

In October 2016 we contacted Sharon who gave us a quote to recover our leather lounge suite. She showed us leather samples and in November 2016 asked for a deposit which we paid and she collected our suite. She promised to have it completed by 16th December. To date, 31 March 2017 she has not returned the suite and does not respond to messages. When we did finally get hold of her, she gave excuses that she was very busy on another job, then was ill and had surgery and then her ex husband passed away. All the excuses but no goods. Be very careful with this woman. We are contemplating legal action for the return of our suite and our money.
