The DDP valuer evaluated the roof of my house and said that the roof is not upto standard, the roof was then brought down, at this time the bank requested NHBRC to also carry out an inspection. Apparently the NHBRC then issued out a non-compliance, something that was never brought to my attention.

Nonetheless, i appointed LCP Roofing to erect the roof, they completed the task and issued the Engineer Certificate. I then submitted progress payment form to the bank. The bank then called me to say the valuer has approved the roof but there is a non-compliance from NHBRC and they can therefore not release the funds. I took the matter up with NHBRC and they said there is no non-compliance recorded on the system and i should ask the bank to send me the non-compliance.

The bank then said it was for the previous roof that got destroyed. I engaged NHBRC,to date i have not received the confirmation, the bank hasn't released the money. Now, since when does NHBRC work for the bank? Is the bank willing to release the funds or not? Should i cancel the bond with ABSA and look for funding somewhere else because Clearly ABSA does not want to continue with the business relationship. Please advise
