This competition is misleading consumers. Please read the legal information on their website. They market the competition like it is in aid of charity, but they don't stipulate what part of the shortcode revenue goes toward charity. They simply state "a percentage". Next, their legal information says only half of the prize money they are advertising is the competition prize. Worst, their legal information very clearly says that they hold the right to cancel the competition and all prizes at any time. They claim that they have been running these competitions for years, but their company was registered by CIPC under a year ago. All of this is dishonest. The business seems to be owned or associated with Conversion Camel, and further investigation into these companies appears equally troubling. I dislike that the South African working class public is being exploited by a website promoting lies. I would like anyone thinking of using this service to rather donate money directly to a charity.
Main Gadgets (maingadgets dot coza) is not a real online store. The same ring of people have used various aliases and different online stores to defraud the public. I placed an order and did not receive anything, and they stop answering their phones. Please do not buy anything from them. They keep setting up new websites as soon as their old ones are taken down. Please note they also advertise on Gumtree, Junkmail, OLX and other marketplaces - not just their own website.
