My 77 year old mother was verbally abused and intimidated when she questioned why certain, unauthorised items were done to her car whilst in for one thing in particular. She was not contacted and Mace just decided do whatever they chose, and then presented a R17K bill for an old bashed up car. When she asked Hamy about it, this huge man towered over her, shouted and pointed his finger in her face and threatened her. In addition he cruelly told her that "just because her husband (my father) had just passed away from Covid, she shouldn't expect any sympathy or soecial treatment, since when he was alive, he never questioned the car bills and he ( Hamy) will not having her start that now." This is a garage whose services we have been loyally using for more than 20 years and with whom we thought we had a relationship. This is their treatment for years of loyalty, a free for all on the car, which in also took them about 2 months to finish fiddling with, and then a massive, unwarranted bill followed by shouting at his elderly customer which did not abate, even when I went over to see why my mom was crying. On relating the story to other people since, it has become clear that this is not an isolated incident and within our circle we have been advised by 3 other people of their similar experience with MACE. Be warned !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No contact for 10 days after dropping off Kreepy Krawly for assesment and did not answer phones. Went to shop to see what was going on and found that faulty parts were replaced without consultation and the bill I was presented with was for almost the cost of a new machine. When I mentioned the lack of contact and that I did not want it fixed based on the cost, I was shouted at by both large men behind the counter. They were reluctant to remove the new parts and when I insisted i was met with great resistance and unpleasantness. They did not know what had happened to the original pieces and under duress finally put back someone elses old parts into my kreepy. Unproffessional, unhelpful and incredibly rude. On relating the story to someone later, they confirmed their own difficult dealings with this firm.

One of the worst service experiences ever. This company are the most unproffessional crew, but worse is the attitude to their clients. I used their services for the installation of new garage motors and a gate battery replacement. Job was done but not without much trauma and nothing short of verbal abuse from the owner and the technician. I was sworn at and threatened when I queried why the brand new battery lasted only 2 hours after it was installed, during load shedding, when i had been told that we should get approximately 10 hours usage before going flat. My query was reasonable and polite but was met with a barrage of shouting and swearing. Be warned, they are the worst !!
A very bad experience dealing with Ashby Interiors/ Joiners. Months of holding my substantial deposit with promises of installation weekly on a project that was marked urgent from the start.. Endless stories, excuses and untruths if I was able to get hold of them. It was incredibly difficult to get them to answer a call and almost impossible to get a response to my emails, voice and text messages. It turns out that at the end of the 3 months they hadn't even started the manufacture ! Months wasted, out of pocket and with great frustrations and stress. Avoid this company at all costs !
