I booked a 1 night stay at Linden Guest house via Booking .com. The stay was pre-paid and no option for a refund was given if you cancel on the night of the stay. I did not think it was suspicious as that is regarded as normal practice. We arrived at the Linden Guest house on Saturday evening and it seemed suspect as there was not parking inside the premises and when we asked where we could park we were shown to the other side of the house where cars were parked in tandem so you would not be able to get out if someone parked behind you. I became suspicious when the house did not look like the photo's on Bookings.com. It is a scam and I am sure they catch many people like this. It looked like a Nigerian drug lord village and 2 women were not safe there. Please be careful - do not book there. It is not safe. The rooms only have sliding doors and it is not safe to stay there. We lost the R500 that it cost for the night but our safety is much more important.
The electricity at my house was off and I never received an alert from ADT to inform me that there was a problem. When I got home and saw this, I called them to find out why I never received an alert. I was told that a technician had to be booked and they could only come out between 9 and 15:00 on weekdays. I cannot be here during that time and asked the lady on the line in Jhb (Amanda) if they could make a plan and her answer was no. She left me on hold on the line in excess of 20 mins. I had to phone back and spoke to about 7 people and no-one could tell me who she was or direct me to a supervisor to try and resolve my issue. I trust this company with my security and I pay them - the service Is terrible!!!!!
