I received a phone-call one morning from a seemingly pleasant recruitment-agent informing me that she had received my application for a job advertised. She asked if it was an appropriate time to ask me a few questions, I confirmed that is was.
Just the previous morning I was called into my boss' office, where he informed me that they would not be extending my contract, and I need to find me another job, no further explanation except that they felt I didn't fit in. Later I was to hear that the lady that worked there before me had informed him that she was returning from retirement, and they decided to re-employ her.
The recruitment-agent asked me why I was leaving my current place of employment, and I gave her the only reason they had given me. She then continued to ask me why they didn't want to extend my contract. I informed her that I did not know why, and I can transfer he to my manager so that she can explain. The agent then said she did not want to speak to my manager as I needed to know why, and then continued asking me, very rudely, if I had a criminal record, any bad debt or if I had been blacklisted. After answering no, she promptly ended the call. I was disgusted.
