On 1 June 2018, my vehicle - Toyota Avanza - broke down while on my way to Mokopane, Limpopo from Diepsloot, Johannesburg. I contacted Toyota South Africa and they authorised me to get my car towed to a nearest dealer. The nearest Toyota dealer was NTT Toyota Mokopane. On Sunday 3 June I returned to home and work in Johannesburg. I contacted NTT on Monday 4 June 2018 to follow up on the vehicle. They then said they will look into it and give me feedback. While waiting for feedback, I then went back and forth with Toyota South Africa on my extended warranty for them to assist with covered repairs. While doing so I kept NTT informed. However, I discovered sometime in August 2018 from NTT that my vehicle was not longer with them. NTT had moved my vehicle to We Store Cars somewhere in Selby, Johannesburg. I then contacted We Store Cars who in turn sent me the wrong vehicle details. I then contacted NTT, who then gave me the contact details of the person I should speak to at We Store Cars. That person requested me to send her the details of the vehicle and I did so. Then, she sent me notification that they have obtained lien on my vehicle and that their storage costs R550 per day. At that stage, the amount I had to pay to release the vehicle was exorbitant and unaffordable as I had not budgeted for it. We Store Cars have since kept quiet. I do not know if NTT Toyota has paid We Store Cars any fees or if We Store Cars have done so. But, I am receiving traffic infringement fines for the vehicle I neither possess nor drive. It may appear that they are using my vehicle or they have sold it or something else. The worst thing is that I am continuing to pay the car's lisence disc renewals for the vehicle I am not driving. The latter is a clear case ******** enrichment of either We Store Cars or the person who is driving the vehicle or of both. NTT Toyota could have done a fair and sensible act actively seeking to let me know that I need to take my vehcile away from their facilitiy. But the failed to do so and they took a unilateral decision to move it to We Store Cars. My understanding of the legal term "lien" did not entitle We Store Cars a position to claim on my vehicle. Perhaps, NTT Toyota could do so. However, even if NTT could claim lien, that lien could not be transferrable unless there was a clear case of me owing NTT Toyota, for e.g. a charge for repairs or storage at their dealer. That was never brought to my attention. I am adamant that did not have any contract or dealings with We Store Cars in August 2018 - None - for them to claim lien on my car. Even if NTT had obtained lien on my vehicle, it would be ******** for them to transfer it to We Store Cars. I need help from whoever may help, please by either returning my vehicle and/or reimbur*****t of the lisence disc renewal fees I have spent since 2019
