I visited Progas [ mt edgecombe] today for a small cylinder refill . The shop assistant advised that because of some rust on cylinder they were not prepared to undertake the refill .She advised me of the warnings given by the fire dept and showed me a picture on the counter depicting some very old and rusted cylinders . I asked for the contact number of the owner of the shop . She refused to give and instead referred me to her head office , a durban number that nobody answers [ voice mail ] I finally contacted another branch and contacted the owner . He made a convincing case regarding safety/ risk . The point is taken , however the rust on my cylinder was barely visible. I should not have been turned away . So here's the point . Are staff at these outlets, trained to assess the condition of cylinders and decide which to accept and which to reject .My sense is that they don't have a clue . The cylinder was taken to another distributor and refilled without any questions. So Progas , please jack up your service . Customers should not be taken for granted . Without the customer there is NO BUSINESS.

Placed a call to have my gas pipes re-routed to another area at the house. Made several calls to follow and could not receive confirmation. Was told by the Hillary branch that they are too busy and cannot promise a timeline. Was promised a call back and never received. Perhaps the owner should be employed more reliable staff.

I am so appalled by the service that my mom received for Progas Isipingo, When she needed the gas to be installed for the first time they were willing to assist and they also indicated that they do deliver if and when the gas need to be re-filled/or another cylinder. I fill that they have double standards because they were able to come to install and deliver and new gas, rude and obnoxious not considering that she is their customer and that she is elderly. We felt discriminated because of where we live at Umlazi which is neighbouring township of Isipingo. I'm so digested by the service SHAME by the the horrible attituded by Daphne she was so RUDE.

I had purchased 2 x 19kg gas cylinders from Progas and fund that 1 bottle lasted me only 2 months. With my limited knowledge, I suspected it was a cylinder leak but could not confirm until I had used the 2nd bottle. Daphne from Progas had sent out a technician Greg to assist me with pinpointing the issue which he had resolved by replacing a rubber on my pipeline and no fault of the cylinder. Impressive customer service which I was not billed for. Highly recommended.
