I will NOT recommend anyone to tent through Prop Rent, especially in the Helderberg area.
1. They failed to do a pre-check with us. I had to email the Dealer Principal for 2 months after moving in to receive a pre-check-in form... She never came to do a pre-check-in with us as stipulated in their contract. (Breach of contract from their side?)
2. We reported water damage on one of the bedroom walls which was apparently caused by a water leak from the previous rentors. It took Prop Rent 6 months to reply to all my emails, only to say 'They don't see the need to fix and re-paint the wall' even though they increased our rent and expected us to top up the deposit after the first year of rental...... Pathetic customer care!!!
3. They sent a contractor to replace one of the kitchen cupboards even though it was not necessary. The new counter top was a lot thicker than the previous one, making it impossible to fit my washing machine under the counter without damaging and scratching it.... I reported it to them and GUESS WAT? ? ? Not their problem that my washing machine now had to stand in the middle of the kitchen... What an inconvenience!
4. When we sent notes that we were not going to extend our contract after 2 years of renting they sent us a letter stating that we had to make an appointment with the Dealer Principle for Check-out inspection and failure to do so will result in a R200 fine?!?!?! If they FAILED to do a pre-check-in as stipulated in their contract why do they want to do a Check-out inspection? What do they want to compare the Check-out inspection on? Any yet after receiving this letter from them the Dealer Principal insisted on doing the Check-out inspection by herself even though they sent a letter saying it will result in a R200 fine and while it is stipulated in our contract with them that BOTH Rental agency and Rentor needs to be present and sign with the Pre-Check-in and Check-out inspections... (Another breach of contract on their side!)
They were suppose to do a remittance as my contract with them only ends on 30 November 2018, however the new Tenant has already moved in.... According to my understanding it is illegal to have new tenants in a unit if the contract and remittance of the previous tenants was not adjusted/cancelled or paid out?
This is but a few of the examples on Prop Rents excellent customer service...
Sies Man! Ek sal nooit weer die selfde fout maak en deur hulle huur wat nog te se van koop nie!
