My mom received a phone call from a lady at this company. that was on the phone, Not even a hello and who she works for and what this in connection with Wanting to speak my step father but he past away at Parklands a year and half ago, didn't believe us demanding that we send her a copy of the death certificate and asking who is handling our estate, demands my mom for medical aid details, our accountant details or lawyer cause she didn't want to talk my mom When we told her that have none of it that we were a private cash patient. The audacity of this women cause she believe what she was hearing that saying that we were going to private hospital that we must have one of those thing Then she begins with threats that we haven't made one payment to Parklands hospital( Parklands didn't even phone us first cause we have a outstanding amount owing that we weren't aware of) and we told her that we made payments that must be a system error at the hospital that they didn't pick up that we made payments in the first place. While she called us liers and threatened with legal action and demanded that PAY TODAY WHAT IS OWINGS TO THE HOSPITAL and we said that we can't afford it only half she put the phone down Like no professionalism, we all human at the end of the day, some can't even afford to pay for things anf we have ****s like her living it big don't have a care in the world Definitely a 0/5 stars 🌟, she needs to be sent on a course on how to speak to people

Absolutely pathetic We are people, not animals! A lady by the name of P. Pillay had been dealing with us with regards to our outstanding school fees. This lady has no way of talking to people from the time the call starts. It's always an argument because she would never let us speak. She always overtalks when we are talking and does not understand what we are trying to tell her. When we try to explain that we could not make a payment due to things being bad financially due to the pandemic and the past looting, she responds that it's bad for everyone. Previously we had asked for her name so that we could talk to her manager and she had lied and given a name of V. Pillay. When we had contacted the manager who had spoken to us in an appropriate manner and had made a payment agreement with us that suited our budget, that's all that had to be done! This P. Pillay is absolutely rude and not an understanding person, and she is not professional at all. We have a life, just like everyone else. If we miss the call, we get a threatening SMS stating that they would take legal action and take us to court. Put it on email and send it. The last call we had with P. Pillay she had threatened us on the call once again to take legal action. I understand that as a debt collecting company, you need to put pressure on people to get the money owed. But have some professional etiquette and talk properly and make appropriate arrangements. We cannot help it if we were affected negatively with all that's happening.

Received a threatening letter for my late husband. He passed in parkland hospital in April 2019. Demanding unpaid accounts. Do these people either Protea Factors or the hospital even know what is going on. Surely someone must have picked up that the poor man is late

This company default lists parents without notice or follow proper procedures with regards to collection of school fees. They don't get the proper information and just do their own thing. According to the dept of education this is deemed illegal and they do not support this kind of behavior regarding school fees as they are aware of hundreds of students cannot afford to pay school fees and that's the reason they implemented free basic education across the board. If this was a black student this company would have never done this because there will be a black lash and protest action. They default list you and then they contact you with sms's which is unlawful and biased and state that you have been black listed. Then they try and justify that the school gave them permission and when you contact the school Appolo secondary and speak to the principal and he knows nothing and neither does the governing body. Protea factors did not follow the process of being a debt collection company and following procedures.. I have lodged a formal complaint with the Consumer tribunal court and Ncr against Protea factors cc.
