I've had my share of bad experiences & the worst customer service, but none like the one we are currently experiencing at Bidvest McCarthy Renault Umhlanga. The staff doesn't even pretend to care to check on you, let alone update you on what the progress is on your vehicle. They simply just couldn't be bothered. This is one dealership that I would NOT recommend to anyone, you'd just be coming here for the view of Gateway.

I took my car in for a service at Renault umhlanga Durban. The place has no shuttle service regardless of where you are going. When taking my renault stepway plus all warning lights on the car were on which meant my car was due for a service. I asked the lady Sharika would all the lights dissappear after the service to which she advised "Yes" I picked up my car the same day and all the lights had disappeared. However 48hours later the engine light reappeared. My partner took the car in and it was checked they hooked up a diagnostic machine to the car advised that nothing was wrong. The engine light then disappeared once again. 48 hours later the light reappeared I called in and was told to bring the car in. I took the car in once again and the same process was followed and the light disappeared once again. I was asked if the car lost any power was there anything different, to which I replied no, which was true. This time, the light disappeared for 2 weeks and reappeared. I called in again and was advised that I would need to bring the car in. I advised I am working and needed the car to get to and from work. The lady said she was customer service head and would arrange for me to be dropped off and picked up. She was supposed to cLl me back which she never did. I am a single mother that has relocated to Durban from Johannesburg might I add renault in Joburg never did this I drive in fear not knowing when will my car give in. Bearing in mind I purchased my car brand new in 2019 so I do not understand any of this. I am also aware that my car is still under warranty. Renault umhlanga is the worst. And it's crazy that they don't t care. They never phone back.

Yoo they are the best after a horrible experience. Our service consultant Tivanya Moodley was the best. She explained the process kept updating us. After she told us that we might have to wait longer for an order number. I decided to log in and attebd my meetings. When I realised that my laptop battery is low. She borrowed me an adapter and a quite desk. Iam a Renault family member while I wait. This is such a relieving service after the horror I went through with Renault KE Masings rd Durban Central. Raesa and her careless. Thankyou Umhlanga Renault even the gentleman that assisted us Sartuday was very professional and friendly

I booked my car in for a service, called them on Saturday the 29th of February for the car to be serviced on the 2nd of March. I delivered the car @06:45Am and only received the car back @14:15Pm. They are slow at what they do,no seriousness what's so ever, no notification as to when to expect the car, for a car which was taken for a service for change of oil and brake pads that took very long, it was like the car was booked in for a major service in which it was not. There's no management concerned about our well-being what's so ever. Coming from my night shift and made me wait several hours is not on. I'm never ever going back there again. I'd prefer going to Renault Durban Central. Last time I was there, I dropped off the car @07:30Am and by 10:30Am they were done, what these guys were doing, I just don't know what to call it. It's hurts to be treated like this where by when month end comes they expect you to pay for the vehicle with no questions asked but they service doesn't even deserve a rating. I give them negative 1(-1).
