A shocking experience. We were calling in the morning of the third day with us to be informed that she had failed a lie detector test for theft at other homes, the lie detector test was completed the day before. Even after sending her for the test they did not suspend her but allowed her to come to our home. We were informed to please physically search her before she leaves as they were going to dismiss her. We were not able to do this as my wife and I were at work (and it would need to be a female), so they asked us to get our son to search her (we told them this is not possible as he is in his early teens and a male). We asked them to send someone to check on her, which they said they could not. It turned out she had stolen almost R200k worth of jewelry and items over the three visits, and they told us it was our fault as their contract was water tight and we must lock away anything valuable, when asked it appear even laptops and tv's are expected to be locked away. We were told categorically that they cannot do anything about it. A case was lodged at SAPS who told us they have many cases of theft from Rent A Maid. I don't advise using them ever.
