Used Rent A Store’s move-in transport service. My marble coffee table feel out of the moving tuck in transit and was completely shattered. Company admitted fault agreeing that safety protocols weren’t followed but hid behind a liability clause to deny compensation. No insurance, no help—just apologies. Disappointed by the lack of care!

So I recently moved from Capetown to Gauteng. Me and my dad jointly rented a storage unit at Rent-A Store Midrand. We loaded some items in the unit while we waited for my move from Capetown to Arrive. When my move came from Capetown suddenly they did not want to let me in, because I was not on their system even though I was on the application form and an email was sent prior to advise them that we both need access to the unit. So while the security gaurd in duty was reluctant to let me in on Monday 12 May 15:00. The moverd left again with my stuff because they couldn't off load due to incompetence of the people working for Rent-A-Store! Utterly disgraceful and not people friendly. Would not recommend them or use them ever again!

Appalling communication from the manager at Wynberg. They even compromised other client’s information, I now have access to a customer’s name, surname, address, email address, WhatsApp number, etc. They should not have shared that information with me, it was unnecessary.

I honestly thought I’d have a great experience because booking a unit was easy and smooth. However I decided to go view the storage place and realised that maybe I need a smaller unit . I told the consult to please move me to a smaller one and I asked her how much would it be and if I need to pay anything even though I had already made my payment and secured the 1month free rent . To my surprise the difference was only 100 and she tells me this after she has done the transfer from my initial unit to the smaller one . I told her that it doesn’t make a difference and asked if I can just go back to the special . She said unfortunately the system won’t allow me . I am so angry because not only did I lose the special but I’m still paying almost the same amount which doesn’t make sense . I asked the consult if there is a difference and she just continued with the transfer . If I could I’d gladly cancel this lease . Rent a store Honeydew SUCKS !!

We had an incident with our storage unit where the door was pushed in, making it impossible for us to get inside. Kenneth, a member of the onsite staff who is always helpful, friendly, and kind, truly went above and beyond that day. He stayed with us and ensured he fixed the door, even though it seemed unfixable to me. Throughout the entire process, he remained calm and humble. Kenneth truly exemplified the high standards of Rent-A-Store!

Rent-A-Store Mountain View, Pretoria. I want to shout out a thank you to Pearl that has been assisting me from day 1, as her name says, she is indeed a gem. Always friendly and helpful and an absolute pleasure to deal with. More businesses need people like her working for them. Hold on to her. Space is also clean and neat.
