Great service from Rentacheapie
I rented one of their cars from the Paarden Eiland branch. From the start the staff were friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. The car was in good condition and, in my opinion, well worth the price. I will definitely use them again if the need arises.

Great service from Rentacheapie
I rented one of their cars from the Paarden Eiland branch. From the start the staff were friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. The car was in good condition and, in my opinion, well worth the price. I will definitely use them again if the need arises.

Thumbs up for Rent a Chea****
If you're looking for an affordable car to rent during your vacation, look no further than Rent a Cheapie. I was received very kindly and they were helpful in every way. When there was a problem with the car, the technician was there within 30 minutes to repair the fault. Got my full deposit back. I will definitely use their services again.

Thumbs up for Rent a Chea****
If you're looking for an affordable car to rent during your vacation, look no further than Rent a Cheapie. I was received very kindly and they were helpful in every way. When there was a problem with the car, the technician was there within 30 minutes to repair the fault. Got my full deposit back. I will definitely use their services again.

They will make sure to keep the deposit amount
They will make sure that they cash out some (if not all) of your deposit amount. The car was returned with no scratches. During the initial inspection (before taking the car), the car had minor spots on the rims and we were reassured that the spots were fine since they were not scratches. When we returned the car, in the same condition, those spots were used as a way to take R800.00 of my deposit for that. It seems this is their business model. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS. Rather go for something reputable.

Accused of scratching tyre and bumper when here were NO SCRATCHES when dropped off the vehicle, and if there was I would've notified them accordingly as it would have been in my own best interest because it was my intention to continue using their services. I had to drop keys off using a key hole in the door... If there was someone available at their office to check the vehicle when I dropped it off, this dispute would not be an issue. This is something their office should have arranged regardless of any Christmas parties or year end functions - if it was a priority for their staff to not be available, then NOTICE SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN TO ANY AND ALL RENTAL CLIENTS for alternative arrangements to be made to avoid misunderstandings such as these. No arrangement was made with myself knowing that the vehicle was due to be returned... the vehicle was unattended despite being in their possession but insist that these damages are my responsibility. Deducted from my deposit and no response to mails or calls. So disgusted!

Do Not Rent From Them
I wish I had read other reviews here before making the mistake of renting from them. The one star reviews line up with my experience exactly. Two wheel damages where pinned on me, that I was sure I hadn't caused - i drove extremely cautiously and would have known if I had scratched the rim badly.

Do Not Rent From Them
I wish I had read other reviews here before making the mistake of renting from them. The one star reviews line up with my experience exactly. Two wheel damages where pinned on me, that I was sure I hadn't caused - i drove extremely cautiously and would have known if I had scratched the rim badly.

WORST CAR RENTAL COMPANY - DO RENT RENT FROM THEM.
A complete ****. Do yourself a favour and don’t ever rent from them. I wish I had read the reviews first as they did exactly what all the reviews say: **** you out of your deposit when you return the car. My experience was that even though their sheet was marked up as the door having a scratch on it, upon returning the car I was told that I was being charged for the door being “rebuffed” because of scratches that were new. They don’t take pictures of the car prior to rental and wouldn’t accept my video showing the scratches saying that those were the ones already there. I had to leave as I had a flight to catch. The car was horrible to drive, the gears stick and it was a horrible experience. It’s not worth saving a few rand to rent from this disgrace of a business. I’m a local to Cape Town, so I can only imagine how they **** the tourists on a regular basis.

Multiple additional surcharges tacked on
This is the second time Ive rented from this company. After the last time where the car I booked broke down when on holiday and stranded me at my destination, resulting in me having to book additional days at my accommodation, I thought I would give them another try. In fact I had to take the car to be fixed etc. The manager of the CPT branch apologised and refunded me two days of rental. Not really sufficient but anyway. I thought I would give the brand another chance and on the day of collection, I was told I wasn't allowed to drive on any gravel road and there would be a surcharge if I did. The road I had to drive onto due to severe flooding with all the rain in the western cape at my exit route, was a dirt road and it was that, or get stuck. I was charged an additional 900 rand for that. Secondly, the car cut out when driving to my destination and I don't think it had been serviced properly. Then I was told they had to check for damage to the bottom of the car, I'm guessing to see if they could charge me more money. AND I was told I would be charged 80 rand to clean the car. The total cost for 3 days hire was: 1773 rental for three days 899 for gravel road 80 for cleaning Total : +/- 2600 for car rental which should have been under 1500 off season. This place expensive and more so than their competitors. Go to Thrifty or others. This golf polo was way more expansive than renting from other competitors in the country. Also beware of these strange charges that suddenly pop up.
