I purchased a house in The River Club, Plettenberg Bay, 19 months ago. RentUncle are now advertising the house for the price that I paid for it (cash). They have inserted the address, so people simply arrive to view the property which is NOT for sale. This ad was placed over a month ago, and we have no idea where they got the pics of all the rooms etc, with the original owners furniture and so on. This is both stressful and *****ulent. I have contacted the agent who sold us the house, and they are investigation the matter. This had better be sorted out very quickly - there is no email address so I cannot have this sent to them, but I have inserted their www address. This has now been going on for a month, and the executor of the deceased estate is continually receiving phone calls. I will wait to see what the investigation reveals. Professor Rory Dunn.

My Brother-in-Law died 2 years ago, and we bought a property in The River Club Plettenberg Bay. The executor and advocate is in the process of transferring the house into my wife's name - conveyancer and so on. Rent Uncle put the house up for sale a month ago. This is tantamount to *****ulent misrepresentation, and is happening to many potential buyers. They need to be dealt with, and are currently under investigation by the Estate Agents Board and the advocate. We will take them to court within the next few weeks, and they need to remove all these false ads. Disgusting individuals, but you have met your match. Please use reputable estate agents. I have brought this to the attention of legitimate estate agents as well, and they too will be taking action. Check the website, they have proven to be culpable of house ****ming practices. This website is a ****, they ask for admin fees and a deposit before viewing the property. They make you sign paperwork and claim that the admin fees are refundable. Beware.

Don't trust Rent Uncle
I am deeply troubled by the ********* tactics employed by multiple property listers on Rent Uncle, who manipulate applicants into completing forms, issue premature approval letters, and demand deposits before permitting property viewings. Despite numerous instances of these deceptive practices, these listings persist on Rent Uncle, allowing further exploitation of unsuspecting individuals. It's concerning to see such behavior continuing unchecked on the platform.

Rentuncle is full of full of ****mers, run away!
The site allows *****sters to advertise using their platform. They ask for a deposit and an admin fee, claiming these are refundable should you not be interested in the property anymore, it's a lie! . Do not make any payments! Infact never use Rentuncle, run away from the site. They don't do the necessary checks on their customers. Don't use. It's a site full of ****** ****mers.

My daughter app**** for an apartment on Rentuncle, she enquired and an application form was sent which she completed and provided all the documents, she received a letter of approval and needed to pay a deposit and admin fees of R9000 before viewing the property. Luckily we saw this as a red flag that payment must be made upfront and did not pay. We did a search for Gilbert Travis with Rawsom Properties and this person does not exist, he isn't even registered under the PPRA, we even tried Travis Gilbert. This is sad preying on people in these times when life is expensive and people think nothing of ****ming you. Please do not use sites like this, rather go to legit property sites or property agents. Verify the information, any payments upfront rather check before losing your hard earned money.

This website maybe a ****. Thank goodness I haven’t paid any deposit or application fee or else I would’ve been ****med. Every time I call them to arrangement a viewing for the apartment that I was “successful” for they do not respond. Also both numbers on the information they sent out do not exist.
