RK Building & Renovations - Breach of Contract

On 17 September I accepted a quote from Regardt Kotze, owner of RK Building and Renovations for renovations at my home. I was asked to pay a 70% deposit as the majority of the cost was for doors that the builder had to order from another source and pay a deposit himself. After spending 2 days at my home he completed a few items on the quote an then disappeared. On 12 October I received an e-mail stating that the company paid to build the doors had not yet started and that he had requested a refund. On 19 October, he replied to an update request I sent to him and stated that he had not yet received the money. I followed up myself phoned the company which was supposed to build the doors (their quote was attached to his initial quote) and was told that he had never ordered the doors. I e-mailed him back stating that I no longer wish him to do the job and that he had 3 days to pay back the money for work not done (R14000) . 4 days later I had my attorney send the first letter to him. I have since had another letter sent but still no payment. This now forces me to take the case to court. I urge anyone looking to do renovations to re-consider employing RK Building and Renovations.
