Horrified at the locksmith price
I just had two locks changed on my door, I’m new to sandton so I’m aware that locksmiths charge higher here but this was ridiculous, it cost me nearly R5000 to have two locks changed, I found it odd that when I called them I explained exactly what was needed, upon arrival the guy did not have the right equipment and had to leave and come back both times it took well over an hour wait, when he arrived back he gave me the invoice, did he leave to make up some crazy price? He said it was a common lock, am I crazy or has anyone else paid this?

Sandton Locksmith 24/7- STAY AWAY
Do not use this "company" they scam you. I needed assistance with my ignition as my key wouldn't turn-they said the call out fee is R 250 then depending on what they do the price will change. They charged me 1400 to "fix" my ignition when all they did was file down the ignition (not change it like previous and most locksmiths would as filing it does cause future issues) they continued to break my key- not apologise or offer a discount. This "fix" also took 2 hours when previously everyone else took 20minutes. Afterwards I noticed my wipers weren't working and that all the controls on the lever closest to the ignition no longer worked-they have either unplugged or broken something. I messaged them explaining what had happened and asking if someone else could please come out and rectify this I was ignored and messaged again, they responded with no apology or urgency and said they can send out a technician to which I asked if it would be free but got no response to that, I just get continuously ignored by the "technician manager". I called and asked for the owner but could not be put through and got hung up on. I then emailed the person I was told is the owner-Tony, to which I also don't get a reply. I am still sitting with a car that isn't safe to drive because if it rains I have no wipers.

Do not use these Locksmiths, they are a disgrace and sharks charging exhorbant fees. They are not members of the locksmith association and it is a call centre that sends random locksmiths out who thumb suck crazy prices and take full advantage of the situation. They are known crooks in the industry and these are not good people. stay away from using them. They are online as Sandton Locksmith 24/7 under the number 010 5001849

SANDTON LOCKSMITH 24/7. This company are scam artists. Called them to open a front door on Thursday morning at approximately 10am. I asked how much they charge. Nicki said R250 call out fee, then depends how much work they do. Colin arrived opened the door in approximately 8 minutes. Did not replace or repair anything. Told us the cost was R1,500. I objected and settled him R850. BEWARE of companies like this. THIEVES. BEWARE OF SANDTON LOCKSMITHS 24/7.
