My husband and i received a voucher for 2 from my daughter for a full body massage. We were very keen to go but struggled to find a mutual date to suit us. I eventually phoned the spa and made an appointment with the receptionist only to receive a call a few minutes later by the owner, who informed us that he must cancel our appointment as it was past the expiry date. I for the first time then noted that there was a 3 month expiry date on the voucher and explained that firstly, I did not see it and that it was not realistic because other Spas were valid from 1-3 years and that secondly, we could not find a suitable time before that period. He was not prepared to budge or make any concessions until I expressed my strong disapproval. I argued that he was financially benefitting without providing ANY service. I explained that my daughter paid about R700 for these vouchers and that it was an embarrassment to tell her that we did not make use of the gift. I was even prepared to pay the difference had there been a price increase, which he also refused to accept. He then finally offered a half hour neck and back massage for 2 which I had no choice but to accept! Unhappy customer!!
