On the 25th June 2024, at approximately 17:48pm in the afternoon. My vehicle Audi A3 Sedan 1.4 TFSi S-tronic (FF 85 KN GP) was bumped on the right Driver Door and side mirror by SBV Money Truck Hino (DN 34 VK GP) at 14th Avenue in Constantia. Driver Hulisani Maliba - SBV ID NO 8810125413082 drove from unnoticed back position of the lane and drove with his left side of his truck into my right drivers door.
What is even sad for me, is that after the bump from SBV vehicle. Is that I parked my vehicle immediately on the safe side of the road. I climbed out, to take photographs of the damage on my vehicle. While SBV Truck was still standing, I also took photographs of the position, license disk and number plates. After having waited for about 10 to 15 minutes outside my Car, SBV truck Driver Mr. Hulisani Maliba, climbed off the truck and approached me and said, heey Ndoda ngiphe ama details wakho ( man give me your contact details) without first trying to establish if I was okay physically after he bumped me. When I advised him that I don't like how he is talking to me he got violent and said he will not listen to my nonsense. I requested that we await the for the police to come take measurements and photographs of how incident happened and yet he refused and told me that he will leave me there without any details. And that will be no longer his problem.
So I decided not to argue any further with him and decided to go report my case at Florida Police Station. Opened the police case on the day.
However after couple of days I received claims from SBV Lawyers/Insurance indicating that I must pay for damages amount to over R9800 for their truck. While I submitted my claim to them and they have said that If I don't have any witness or video footage to prove my case, they cannot help.
Vey appalling to say the least.
I believe I am not the first person to be treated in this fashion by SBV. Their drivers are reckless and has got no consideration for other peoples safety.
We are seeking intervention in terms of how SBV Money Truck Drivers are treating us on the road. We get threatened by people carrying guns with really bad attitude.
I am a very sad Driver post this incident on South African Roads. Its the 31st July 2024 today and my car still drives with damaged right Driver Door and Side Mirror. Our Lives is in Danger, We are not safe because of the likes of SBV Money Truck Drivers.
Hope one day we will find resolution
