If I could give negative stars I would. I had a very disappointing experience with this broker. The handling of my third party claim was extremely slow and poorly managed. The process is taking several months to resolve, with long periods of little to no communication. I repeatedly have to follow up for updates, and the lack of transparency is making the situation even more frustrating. What should be a straightforward claim is turning into a prolonged and stressful experience. Based on my experience I would strongly advise others to carefully consider their options before choosing this broker, especially if efficient and responsive claims handling is important to you.

A month after I put in my claim and I am still waiting on authorization. I have to call them daily because they don't follow up and return my calls. Meanwhile I have to pay for a vehicle that's just standing at a panelshop and I am losing money everyday because they can't do their job properly or even provide proper customer service. It's back and forth between Scottfin and CTU Taxi Insurance both putting blame on the other for their incompetence and requesting payment confirmation of premiums they debited two months ago. Absolutely ridiculous service. Stay far away from Scottfin and CTU Taxi insurance.

I was assisted by a consultant (Tony Mbatha). I submitted a claim four weeks ago and submitted all necessary and requested documents. The assessment was also done and they received the assessors report. For four weeks the claim has not been finalized and the work on the vehicle has not even commenced although the consultant (Tony Mbatha) claims it has been finalized and they are sending the authorization letter to the repairers. Everytime I follow up on my claim, with the consultant, it is lie after lie! If I am not promised a call back in 5 minutes, I am promised that the letter has been signed and the repairers should receive it within 5 minutes. Yesterday again I was told he was drafting the letter and I should receive it within 5 minutes. The repairers still have not received the letter and again I need to do a follow up, yet they are the brokers. I mean how pathetic can a service be! Atleast be honest when you deal with your insured. I cannot be calling everyday following up on a claim and you do not have the decency to update me correctly. If one has too wait so long for them to finalise a claim to commence work, I wonder how long it will take them to finalise authorization for supply of parts, maybe another month or two? Their service is really unprofessional and i would not recommend them to anyone.

Scottfin.. I'm so disappointed with the serviced received. I called in on 28 November at 9am asking for an estimated quote. Till today your agents Hlengiwe and Lungile are givinge the run around. Are your systems that complicated that you have to wait more than 48 hours just for an est. quote?? This is beyond ridiculous!!

The customer service that I've received from SA Taxi and Scottfin Insurance Brokers is shocking to say the least. My taxi was involved in an accident in November. This was my first claim after being with these companies for almost 5 years. The claim was approved and I was told that the "benefit" they sell as "instalment protect would cover my instalments up to two months while the vehicle is being repaired. I received the vehicle back mid February and have been hounded by debt collectors because my account is apparently in arrears. I never even skipped one payment and even continued to keep my account up to date all through Covid and lockdown and even paid the installment at the end of November while my vehicle was in the panel shop. While trying to settle this arrears and installment protect issue with SA Taxi they tell me they can't work on my claim because Scottfin is the broker - a fact I only became privy to upon doing the claim. Despite being assured by Scottfin's people that the installment protect would pay, they are yet to do so. Every single time I have to call and ask for feedback or an update or when I ask to be called back they just DON'T BOTHER. When I asked to speak to a manager they just passing the buck around and saying they are waiting on SA Taxi and the repairer for final quote and cost. The repairer said they sent the required documentation long ago. Weeks ago the Tarryn lady at Scottfin told me the payment will be loaded the following day and will take up to 2 - 4 days. Yet here I am still frustrated because they clearly not doing their jobs and can't even provide clients an update yet they will happily take your money every single month and sell you products and benefits which clearly is an issue when it comes time to claim. I am fed up with these companies and will not recommend them to anyone. I can not wait to be done with this, because at the end of the day it's just about filling their pockets at the expense of the customer.

The worst experience I had with any insurance company. On 29 August 2021 our vehicle was hijacked and recovered by CARTRACK two hours later. Since then, we've been getting the runaround from Scottfin Insurance, Guardrisk, SATAXI Protect. To top it all, SATAXI IMPACT fund, the Financiers are threatening us with installments that are running in arrears despite the fact that we are covered for business protect, who is supposed to be covering the installments. I get the impression that SATAXI is a law unto themselves. They are the vehicle Financiers, the vehicle insurers, the panelbeaters, aftermarket parts suppliers and everything else in the supply/ value chain. If only the sent their staff for training, they could actually become Labour Brokers as well. It's an absolute CIRCUS dealing with the whole value chain. Are they a law unto themselves or will someone actually challenge them?
