Laughton's of Sea Point: Fantastic Hardware and Paint store
This company is also called Laughton's Hardware and Paint. I recently needed to buy wood from them to have an easel made after the one I bought was too flimsy. The staff, from management down were extremely helpful and polite. Thank you particularly to Roderick in the wood section and to the wonderful delivery man (whose name I forget) but whose service level will not be forgotten. He is a credit to his company. I will certainly be a return customer to Laughton's.

Hidden gem paint and hardware store in Seapoint
On the day just before Covid-19 lockdown, I phoned around Cape Town looking for a specific paint colour. I was at my wit's end when I noticed this store while I was driving down Main Road. Pulled in without much hope, but I literally walked in and out within ten minutes. The paint consultant mixed the colour for me there and then, and utilised the brief wait to ensure I had everything I needed and also gave me some useful tips. All the while I was also observing the other consultants and store assistants and every single one was beyond polite and helpful to whomever they were helping. Check-out was also super quick and friendly, and I got three "stay safes" as I left. Basically felt like I had been going there forever even though it was my first time there. #SupportLocal , they make you feel at ease and at home.
