Takes your money but doesn’t produce the goods…
Wow can’t believe this is still going on…. For some reason I decided to come on here to see if Shaun is still operating and apparently he is still taking money from people and not producing goods. I paid Shaun almost R100 000 in 2022 to make furniture for some of my clients, which we never received. I have messages of him admitting that he used the money and would refund it and to this day nothing….

This guy “ran” a business as Blackwood Timber but is nothing more than a ****mer. I have made contact with some of the people he ****med and we are working with the police. Kindly contact me if you have also been taken for a ride by this guy

**** ALERT: I ordered and paid for a custom dining table on 10th March 2023. Was told I would have delivery within 3 weeks. It has now been almost 14 weeks and I still don't have my table. Shaun has given me countless empty promises saying its almost done and will be delivered but it just never arrives. Shaun then sent me formal communication saying he would refund me my money by 6 June 2023. I STILL DON'T have my refund. Shaun has now stopped replying to messages and emails and no longer takes my calls. I have recently searched Shaun Meintjies on Hello Peter and have found at least 8 reviews with the same feedback.

Shaun Meintjies Carpenter Centurion
We ordered a custom sideboard in Nov 2022. After visiting his house we paid a 70% deposit. Being told many stories of why the item was not complete we gave up and asked for our deposit back mid March 2023. To date nothing was refunded and he keeps promoting his business on Facebook, please don't fall for this guy's stories. He uses the name Blackwood timber and Blacktimber wood. With a trail of disappointed customers I am surprised he keeps doing this.

Have you tried to do business with Shaun Meintjies. He makets himself as a wood craftsman. And if you have the most unfortunate experience of doing business with him. You will have either lost your money or after a lot of threatening mange to get your deposit back. I am one one the unlucky ones. He opens and closes companies at a rate of knots. These are some of the company names he has uesd or could still be using, Thermteq, Blacksmith studios, Modern wood craft and Black timber wood. He still resides in Centurion despite his poor business ethics. Ensure you do your reasearch well before transfering any money into his account. You wont see it again.

UPDATE: CONFIRMED CON-ARTIST (numerous cases against him) Let me first say: I rarely write reviews (especially bad reviews) as I do not like to put people on the spot. However, I need to get this off my chest and warn other "possible" customers. I ordered a desk from this company 17 July. Upon acceptance I was informed it would be done in 2 weeks (the invoice stated 2 to 6 weeks). I was prepared to wait for quality work. I was promised delivery last week (week of 8th August). Never happened. I was promised delivery Wednesday 17th August. We had an appointment! Never happened. No notification even of being unable to make the appointment. Surely, you communicate with your client. I was once again promised delivery would come. To no avail did I ask for pictures to be sent as proof just to be delayed with more excuses. Now the above is FACT, not narrative. I am not bad-mouthing anyone, but I do notice a trend here. Unfortunately, it seems I have been cheated out of my hard-earned (and small savings fund). For I am the mother of two children (one of them disabled). I cannot phathom someone stealing from a person in this manner. Perhaps the job was "insignificant". Perhaps just another delay. Who knows. I only know that because of this I will not be able to afford another desk. Because of this I was unable to fall asleep. Because of this my entire week has been stressful and my children see and feel it. I rest my case. Whatever the reply to this may or may not be. BE WARY. NO DEPOSIT OR ORDER IS WORTH THIS STRESS.
