I cannot speak highly enough of the team at Shimwells Yamaha Boksburg. From start to finish, their service has been nothing short of exceptional. They recently rebuilt my son's Yamaha YZ 250 FX from the ground up, and since it left their workshop, the bike has not given a single second of trouble. That kind of reliability speaks volumes about the superior workmanship and attention to detail that went into the rebuild. A special mention must go to Zac Botha, who is the consummate professional when it comes to all things motorcycle. His knowledge, passion, and customer care are unmatched—he truly is an absolute gem in the motorcycling world. Equally impressive is Braham Botha, a man who quite literally doesn't know the word "no". His positive, can-do attitude ensures that every challenge is met with a solution, not an excuse. Shimwells Yamaha isn't just a dealership—it's a team of genuine enthusiasts and skilled professionals who treat your motorcycle like their own. I would wholeheartedly recommend Shimwells Yamaha to any motorcycle owner, no matter the make. Whether it's a niggle or a full rebuild, these guys are the original GOATs. 🏆🏍️

I regularly use Shimwells for servicing my motorcycle. Their service in general, is always excellent. Twice when I had emergency situations, I actually turned up at their workshop without any appointment. During both instances, they immediately dropped what they were busy with and attended to my problem without any hesitation, sorting it out promptly and professionally! Special thanks to Zack, Braam and other staff.

SHIMWELLS Boksburg also known as SHIMWELLS JHB. Now let me explain to you all what happened to me today. So I ordered a set of Rings for FZR 400.. ( set for me is all the rings for this motorcycle.. Paid cash R1550 and had to wait 3 weeks. Was contacted yesterday to collect as the ring set has arrived..from Japan nogal.Upon collection it was only a set of rings for 1 x piston...When I ask but it's a 4cyl and 4 pistons i was told to pay extra for the other 3 sets...So the overall cost rings sets will be R6200...***.. I can buy a secondhand motor for that price..So I told the guy that helped me..it's crazy..I'm not paying extra +-R4500 for the rest and told him 1 x set is useless to me and I would rather want my money back.. Guess what ..one word on the other ,argument refusing to give my money back, throwing the small packet with rings at me..Aggressively.When I back chat and disagree. I was challenged to come outside the shop so he The owner I presume will **** up this Maergat was his words.... I accepted his challenge but instead he run back in the shop.. What type of customer relation, communication, service is this person offer to customers...If you disagree he challenges you for a fight outside his shop.. Pathetic, bad service, no consideration for a customer.. and that for R1550 return on my request to have my money back.. Please share this with as many people possible.. SHIMWELLS must be exposed ..Shocking treatment. Anyway my loss of R1550 as SHIMWELLS is not even prepared to understand or negotiate.. Rather want to use violence against customers.. SKELMS YOU ARE SHIMWELLS Boksburg

Took our bike in (in one piece) for fault finding and repairs,3 months down the line.....not fixed ,no problem found and the bike is still the same with duck tape on the air filter box(***) . Charged me for a new throttle cable although it had a new one on already(have the invoice from Yamaha) where I bought it . When I got it back it was in pieces, how am I suppose to know if everything is there and we will be able to fix it after it has been butchered like this. Can not believe this is a Yamaha franchise....really pathetic

I have never come across a dealership with the most rude and arrogant people in one place like at Shimwells Yamaha Boksburg. i have taken my Yamaha motorbike to them to inspect and give me a quotation to get the bike running smoothly again as it had not run as it should but was running when i drove it from work to their workshop and left it there to check what the problem was. I was told by "Zac Botha" that they will call me when they had inspected the bike and will then provide me with a quotation to repair the bike. after a week of calls that i had to make to them to find out what is going on i finally was told to come and fetch the bike, i asked zac on the phone what the quotation amount was and was told that i needed to pay a R2000 before i can get the bike, i told him that i never received a quote and that i never gave any permission to replace anything on the bike, i then got the biggest attitude towards me and was told that they had to replace all these things in order to see what the problem was. after settling the account in order to get the bike back i was informed that i would need to repair a puncher on my front wheel aswell as my back brakes because the whole cable and brake mechanism was completely broken, i was told that i left the bike there with broken brakes and a flat Tyre. (i drove the bike there for 15km from work and used my brakes with no problem) but now it is completely wrecked. after i decided to just get out of there knowing that it is worthless fighting with them as i had no proof i asked Zac if everything is running perfectly and if i can bring the bike back if its not fine seeing as i was forced to pay for work done on the bike and i was guaranteed that there is no problems with the bike anymore. when i took the bike to work the next day i stopped at the petrol station and filled up the bike, on my way to work from there i got stranded next to the road with a bike that is not running at even 10% of what it was when Shimwells did repairs on it. i took it back to them that same day and told them that they made everything worse and need to fix it free of charge seeing as it is a comeback of a "guaranteed" job, i was with a sarcastic laugh told that i cant tell them not to charge me because if something else is wrong they need to fix it and i will need to pay before i receive my bike back, in the time of this discussion with Zac Botha his father Andre Botha came and asked what the problem was and i was informed that it is a comeback and he told me that he will make sure it gets fixed properly. feeling assured that a person who i at the time thought was a manager told me that it would be sorted out i thought it will be 100% after the work. i asked Zac for a job card that states that it is a comeback and that he needs to inspect the bike now to see that everything is in working order and that there is nothing broken or damaged because i had fixed the brakes and flat tire that was broken by them, and that i need a quote first. he then threw a massive tantrum because i asked him "**** like this" and that he don't have to write that because he can see everything is fine. i then left with a jobcard only saying that its a comeback and they must quote first i thought that its fine atleast i have some proof that the bike is there and that its not there for the firs time. the next morning i phoned shimwells boksburg and asked to speak to a manager, i was put through to Andre Botha and i then politely asked him if he could please do me a favor and just have a look at my bike to witness that everything is fine, he then asked me what this is about and i explained to him that i had plroblems with things damaged by their workshop and that they dont take responsibility so i just want him to witness that all is fine, he then exploded and started shouting at me that i must not start with my"****" with him he does not run a "****ing bull**** shop" and that he has been in this industry for 27 years hes staff does not lie and if they break something they will replace it, i then asked him why they refuse to write on the jobcard that nothing is damaged if he is so sure of his staff, he obviously had no answer and told me that i must leave them to do their job and that he wil "****ing call me" if they are finished with it and slammed the phone down in my ear. it took 6 weeks that i decided i will call them and suddenly the day i call its finished today and that i can come and collect it on friday. friday came and i wanted to collect i was told by Zac that they did not put it together i must come on saterday, saturday same story come on monday, i then decided to leave it for the next week friday hoping that the useless bunch of incompetent people will have it done. when i got there friday i asked to see Zac and he was called he then sent the staff to bring the bike arround, and told me with a big smile that i dont have to pay anything and that its fixed now and walked away. i started the bike and left knowing that they wouldn't have made sure that its fine i could yet again not even make it to my house that is 2km away the bike is completely wrecked the nutral light suddenly stays on the bike over revs and cuts out and i cant even reach 4th gear without it over revving. i came home also to discover that they had drained my full tank of petrol and that im left with a empty bike also and a bike that can not run at all. Zac and Andre Botha showed me how competent they really are by taking a perfectly running bike with a minor issue that does not really need to be adressed but is a irritation to a complete write off. Please be very carefull when Going to Shimwells Boksburg and always try your best to get as much evidence and paperwork from them before you leave because they will cost you a lot of money with their bullying ways.

A friend wanted to by my father in laws quad. He collected it from me and took it to Shimwells Yamaha, who after +- 3 weeks came back with a quote of R27 000 for repairs. My friend and I agreed not to go ahead with the repairs and he brought the quad back. On arriving with the quad, I noticed that the air box was missing. My friend contacted Shimwell Yamaha, Braam said he will look around for it. After a day or two nothing was found. Feeling responsible, my friend bought a new air box from Braam for R2500. On checking the quad further, I found that the electrical for the display had been removed and not replaced. On calling Braam, he admitted that they do not put things back together if the quote is not accepted. He also then said that the quad arrived with no air box, as it blew off while on the back of the trailer. He then said he checked the security cameras and can confirm that there was no air box. I know that there was an air box as I washed the quad two hours before my friend collected the quad. Braam was not prepared to refund the R2500 for the item lost at Shimwells or fix the state of the electrical. He was rude and used bully tactics to avoid taking responsibility.
