I have to start by mentioning that Sindi Molete is a con artist, a **** and a narcissist. She constantly changes her business name, She goes by Sindis Best Catering, Sindi's Best Catering and Sindi's Best for all. What a vile human being.
We met Sindi Molete of Sindi's Best for All on the 8th of January 2023 when we were looking for someone to cater and do decor for our wedding, we discussed the services and agreed on the amounts which were: decor for 102 people and catering for 150 people of which 102 are seated We also discussed the theme of the wedding, she showed us photos of how it would look like based on her previous jobs (we still have photos of these). She advised in order to decor for 102 people she needed to have 2 tents each seating 50 people. However, we also added other services such as: Toilet Desser We paid her a deposit of R10000 on the 9th January 2023 as she said she wanted us to secure the dates as well hire equipment, the remainder of what was left after the deposit was paid by the 20th April as she said she wanted all the monies before the wedding, the wedding program was shared with Sindi a **** prior to the wedding so that she knows what time the meals are supposed to be served and the completion of the decor. Sindi demanded payment on random days, i found this off but I went with it as she is my moms friends daughter (I mean why would she **** us? never). However, on the wedding day to our surprise, the following transpired: (13th May 2023) When the reception started (we were late for by an hour and a half), we found the decor was not complete. The second tent was not drapped at all, the table set up was incomplete (no glasses, no water etc). In both the first and second tent the tables and chairs were in bad condition (chipped, cracked and one of the tables with guests fell on them), The table set up was completely different to what was promised, she delivered substandard work, the welcome board was not there as promised, she even sent us photos of how it would look like. The food that was supposed to be served was not there, we did not know that the food was not even there until we were alerted by the MC when he was supposed to inform people that they can have lunch, to our surprise Sindi was not even there. Family helped to phone Sindi, she was not picking up their calls but pick unknown numbers and later on switched her phone off. Eventually, after 5 pm she showed up, with a bad attitude shouting and insulting guests and family members who were enquiring about the food or plates; and some of the people serving the food were drunk. She promised the servers will wear uniform but none of them wore uniform. The set up for the dishing stations was totally different to what Sindi had promised it would look like, the food that was brought was so little that it was only in 2 serving stations and served only 50 people instead of 150, and there was no additional food, to us this was a shock considering the amount of money that we had paid and what we were promised. The guests also informed us they had to choose 1 meat whereas we had paid for 2 types of meat, 2 salads, 2 starch, 2 vegetables in a plate. We later found out the dessert we had paid for was not even there, we then decided since our day was already ruined we would use the dessert for the following day, she said (with a bad attitude) "you can fetch it from the shop tomorrow".
On Sunday (14th May 2023), we called her, not only discuss what had transpired on Saturday but also to pick up the dessert as discussed with her, her phones were off, WhatsApp was off, when someone else calls her with a different number she would pick up and we concluded that our calls were blocked. We then decided to keep some of her equipment until Sindi contacts us to discuss the disaster of Saturday which she caused as well as paying us back for incomplete work. She was quiet Sunday and Monday, phone was still off. Then on Tuesday (16th May 2023) she decided to make contact asking us about the chairs not mentioning anything that happened on Saturday and Sunday. We then asked that we would meet face to face, and she confirmed an appointment for Wednesday (17th May 2023) at 17h30, we discussed the Saturday event, and she informed us she had another event at 10 am for 50 people same day as our wedding, she acknowledged the fact that she had not done what she was paid to do and that she would go and discuss what compensation in terms of refund with other business partner. The following day (18th May 2023), we had another meeting, this time she came with someone she claimed was her business partner. During this meeting, Sindi and her supposed business partner admitted being wrong and had said they would want to make fair compensation, we then requested that they pay back half of the money (R35000) for both decor and catering since only half of the job was done. They left promising to send us a letter with a payment structure on how they would pay back the R35000. We have additional correspondence where she says she is still in discussion with her partners with regard to the letter for compensation and we had agreed that the chairs will only be released from storage once we have an agreement and down payment because we do not trust her anymore. She threatened us with a lawyers letter, demanding the chairs back and not mentioning our refund. The following day, she came with police and unfortunately they couldn't help her as this was already a civil case. She has since been harassing us and our family. She claims to be SA chef association ambassador and claims to work with various big names, Its all a lie and we have verified this. SIs is a ****mer of note. We are shocked that she is not apologising.
