UNSTRUCTURED AND CHAOTIC
I can only congratulate all forum members who have received good service from this company. My experience is exactly the opposite. After having had very good experiences with Smart Energy in 2017, I commissioned them to install a battery storage system in 2024. I had an extremely bad experience. A confirmed installation time of 3 days turned into 3 weeks and there are still significant defects that we have been complaining about for 6 months but have not received a response from the company. The installation staff worked in an unstructured and chaotic manner. Fitters came without any tools and I had to lend them mine. Overall, I have no confidence in the professional competence of this company. After many unsuccessful attempts to get Smart Energy to fix the errors, I now have no other option than to hire a lawyer.

Good Service and Customer Support Impressive
SMARTENERGY really managed to rescue us by "shining real lights" to our home.The speed at which the entire SMARTENERGY team responded and their professionalism during the installation is really awesome and impressive! The combination of the Tesla Powerwall and the Enphase inverters is a game changer! Essentially we have smart green energy and we are now offgrid and going very well. It has always been a pleasure to work with Smart Energy

Good Service and Customer Support Impressive

Not smart to go with Smart Engery.
Please note that Smart Energy does not forfil there promises as there is excuse after excuse, there workmansip also leaves alot to be desired. We eventually paid them so that we could get our Certificate of Compentancy, but had to then get people with the necessary expertise to rectify all the faults. If you are looking at price, it will cost you more at the end of the day, as they will not sort out issues, in fact alot of our issues where caused by them. If you are looking for service, this word does not even factor into there vocabulary.

Not smart to go with Smart Engery.
Please note that Smart Energy does not forfil there promises as there is excuse after excuse, there workmansip also leaves alot to be desired. SOLAR COMPANY - POOREST SERVICE
I am surprized with the positive reviews on this platform. The experience with Smart Energy SA was riddled with missed appointments, rotation of excuses for missed deadlines which bordered on the bizarre at times. After countless delays the solar system was installed. That was not where the poor service ended, my roof is leaking as a result of incorrect installation protocols and am I now battling to get Smart Energy SA back to prevent further water damage. The workmanship warranty is not worth the paper it is written on. Using this Solar Company is nothing but a gamble. They most likely do not have Contractors All Risk Insurance since this information has not been provided despite my requests to all including the Technical Director to provide the same. They are simply not responding and information are not forthcoming. The culture among all representatives from this Company including Management is some of the poorest service I have ever experienced.

Stay away from Smart Energy SA - or be the fool!
I am surprised with the positive reviews received by Smart Energy SA. I share the sentiment of the negative reviews on the platform. I have not often experienced such unprofessional service. They are totally unable to meet appointments with the same excuses, caught up at another client, forgot, etc, etc. They completely disrespect the Client's time. Once they face loosing the business, they over promised and then offered me the same excuse of a ******* in Gauteng on the morning of the installation while all components should have been at my property in Cape Town already (they lie to Customers as a standard protocol, and does not think about the silly excuses they rotate while stringing you along). They simply lie, deceive string you along as far as possible. The installation was eventually done, and is working well..... but then my roof started leaking as a result of improper installation protocols. I now sit with a leaking roof and water damage as a result. The warranty they offer on workmanship is not worth the paper it is written on (I assume the same will apply to the equipment warranty). They, true to form promised to meet on site and then simply does not show, stringing you along and not responding to correspondence. I assume they do not have Contractors All Risk Insurance and is therefor ignoring my requests. You will also not be able to escalate to a more snr person since the culture in the Company and treatment of Customers is cultivated from management ie John Chirwa Director / Owner and office Management Gail. If you use Smart Energy SA, you will only have yourself to blame.

Incompetence, poor communication, bad planning
Quick en efficient to quote and make the sale, but installation and booking communication is shocking, with multiple missed installation dates, wasting time and plenyty of follow ups. no pitch or last minute cancellation or postponements of appointments (which I followed up for installation, not having stock and urgently having to source it on day of installations for both panels and solar inverter because someone forgot pr neglected to order it. Eventually solar went up and with huge surprise they didn’t install the solar inverter, initially another team was going to install it that afternoon, just to be postponed to the next morning, 2 hours after agreed time, that following day, I was told they are trying to source one and will revert. No further feedback received and still have an incomplete installation few days on.

Solar Installation Company
Bad Service. They don't follow up with what was promised and the communication between Installers and management is very poor. It is almost a month later and I am still waiting for them to complete the installation Some of the work that was supposed to be done by them I did myself because I couldn't wait any longer. It seems to me that they are concentrating more on big projects than households. My installation cost me over 300k and I am not looked after. Overpromise and underdeliver

I was initially hesitant to use Smart Energy, because they had a few bad reviews and my installation was completely off-grid and thus very costly. However, I took the plunge and I am glad I did. The team is highly competent, try to work without disrupting the house and the installation was professionally done. There was a delay caused by the availability of Tesla Walls, but it seems this is resolved. Overall, I am delighted with being completely off grid and I am able to manage my Tesla Walls from anywhere in the world. I was impressed by the commissioning engineer coming to commission my installation.
