I worked at Las Marais for some time and wanted to share feedback about the systems in place. Roles: Cashiers, merchandisers, and cleaners should have clear responsibilities. Sometimes cashiers are asked to do tasks outside their role, which can be stressful during busy times. Scheduling: Predictable schedules or shift groups (like 4-team rotations) would help staff plan and reduce burnout. Breaks & Facilities: Access to proper breaks and a canteen space would improve staff wellbeing. Allowing staff to use phones responsibly during breaks in the shop also helps manage emergencies. Cash Handling & Voids: A clearer void and coin system, with supervisor support, would reduce stress and mistakes. Sick Leave: Staff should feel able to rest when unwell, with fair processes that don’t penalize them. Cashier should stop chasing coins instead of making money they need to change Thier cash up system it's stressful to cash up a float of 500 coins and it's frustrating and in the morning when asking for change they should give cashier 20&10s the people who should be dealing with cash counting should be at the cash office not cashiers and cashiers should not be removing expiry on the shelf that's a merchandiser job and they should hire enough cleaner cashier should stop leaving Thier tills to clean especially since the Spar is very busy and supervisor should notify new employees if they have put them on the schedule
