My mom moved from this medical aid to GEMS but when she was suppose to claim her savings she did not recieve the amount because someone from inside spectramed decided to do ***** faking her signature , submitted wrong ID and Wrong name and they said she is a beneficiary all that can be proven that it is ***** but they dragging a case

This is a follow up of my first review of my experience of Health Squared, after my first review I received a message from H2 stating that they would be getting a Senior Client Consultant to contact me to resolve the problem I have with H2. It is now 5 days since that message and I still have not had any call from them.

Good day We have been with Spectra medical aid for almost 5years. Apparently they have been bought over by Health Squared. The policy was taken for my wife who was unemployed. Every year in January we had to submit proof of her unemployment status to the fund. Two years ago this was not done timeously and we were debited approximately R800 extra. This took a few months to resolve with no refund. January 2019 we received notice requesting if we wanted if we wanted to change the policy option. Seeing that it was not employment status, I chose to leave it as our existing option was affordable. We were then charged a staggering amount of over 50% higher. From 1900 odd to R3178. This amount we communicated to the fund as being completely unaffordable. We were just charged R6356 and informed that our cancellation with 1month notice will be end of March effective 1st April 2019. Firstly no communication was received that the company was bought over and policies would now cost almost double and definitely no acceptence from our part was agreed to. Spectra medical aid/Health Squared are not ethical wrt monthly premiums as well as communication to there clients. I'm very interested to see the way forward as we cancelled with immediate effect as a result of the uncommunicated price and company take over.

I'm tired and disgusted of spectramed this medical aid scheme has been sucking money from my mother for months and now they are refusing to cancel her medical aid.it all started when she requested them to remove me as a dependant on the medical aid for 6months they have been billing her and one of their consultant by the name of Lerato said they will investigate till today nothing has happened.She then send an email requesting them to cancel the medical aid and send her medical certificate with end date,although they acknowledge receiving her email she is still waiting and when you call them their line is poor and they never pick up.I just wanna know how difficult is it to cancel a medical aid since you have provided poor service for so long.

Disgusting service. My grandmother has been trying to get a response from you people for months. My grandfather was admitted into hospital and passed away a few months ago. Now my grandmother has been sent bills from Garden City when she has a medical aid plan with 100% hospital coverage. She called on the 5th and was on hold for an hour. She used R90 of her airtime to no avail. Also called on the 8th and spoke to Martin, he then "transferred her" where she also got through to no one. R 35.00 airtime gone. She is a pensioner! i cannot express how disgusted i am at the services. She is not very up to date with technology hence i have sent this on her behave. Should she not receive a response by tomorrow. I will be escalating this to the medical aid ombudsman.

Even though I called in and emailed numerous times to cancel my membership at the 1st of the month,Spectramed dragged their feet claiming never having received my notifications. All this just so they could ***** me over and bill me another month!!!!! And I cancelled because they also claimed to never have received my supporting documentation for my medical claim from the doctors. What a useless medical aid. I deal with them on behalf of my 86 year old great Aunt. I have been emailing since the 3thrd September to find out why they are not paying for her chronic medication. They have said her medication is acute and she has no funds left to cover it but according to her doctor it is chronic and Spectramed has a copy of the script for their approval. The staff never respond to your queries, always giving vague answers that don't make much sense but say you can phone them if you are still unsure, how hard can it be. You need a medical aid in this country but it will certainly be the death of too!!!
