I did some digging and spoke to my colleague who works in the industry, and he confirmed what I suspected—any so-called "creditor" asking for upfront payments is a ****, plain and simple. Keep the R2500. Consider it a donation for the valuable lesson you’ve given me on how NOT to do business. Thanks for the enlightenment.
