Dishonest Staff
Left my wallet at the bar, was informed by other patrons that someone had handed it to the barmen. Arrived literally two minutes after realizing my wallet was no longer in my pocket, in that amount of time it was already sitting in the upstairs office. A barman returned with it only to 'insist' I give him something before he gives it to me. Naturally, I gave him what I little I had. After telling my friends about my ordeal I discovered that a friend of mine had slipped some cash into my wallet. Meaning that the cash was taken out before it reached the upstairs office, so basically, I had money stolen and I likely paid the thief for my wallets return. Won't be going back in a hurry.

Racist and disgusting
<p>Utterly Disgusting pub, went there for an 18th birthday evening, TO my surprise, there was some ****ty Racist comedy night. I enjoy a good comedy show, but when the Goliath and Goliath brothers came on, from the word go, it was "lets have a go at the white people", firstly, He called me an entitled asshole? not sure what i did to deserve that, then he calls us "white people" the problem in this country and so on and so on. Unacceptable and completely disgusting behavior. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN.</p> <p>Oh and to add to that, YOUR menu is ****, your drinks are daylight robbery, R60 for a small glass of a "****tail" which was more like a sippy-cup. useless. Go to Molly Malones, at least they have good food, good vibes and don't rip you off</p>

Worst night ever
<p>My friend was not feeling well and you allowed one of your patrons to attack her by throwing chair at her, totally unacceptable.... then "allowing" him to say sorry via the bouncer?!?! What kind of policy is this?!? This man had nothing to say to my friends but everything to say to the bouncer?!? </p> <p> </p> <p>Your establishment stinks at handling situations like this, where the "colour" of your money warrants such behaviour. Thank you for reminding me that still after 20 years since apartheid ended, we were the ones asked to leave... </p> <p> </p> <p>Last time this place will ever see me... </p> <p> </p>

Out of steam
<p>Dinner for 7 at 18:00. Or so we thought. Making a booking proved useless as when we arrived, we were told our booking was overlooked. When the Vape smoking manager came out to tell us he would try make a plan, we were subjected to his filthy habit as he breathed his smoke all over us. Eventually, we were put in a little corner and we took a look at our menus. The waiter told us about the wide range of beers that were out of stock. We placed our reconsidered drink orders. Unfortunately, over an hour later, only 6 drinks had periodically arrived and 1 was still waiting. Thankfully it was still early enough to find a place that we could actually eat at. Steamworks is a disappointing excuse for a pub/restaurant. Bad service. Rude staff. Save yourself the trouble and stay home. You won't be missing out on much.</p>

I hosted an event for a client there in April - the service was shocking, the meals sub-standard - and whilst I have given the owners three weeks to respond to my complaint and my request for a refund (R800 ) - I have received nothing - so am now hitting social media and various review platforms, in the hope they will wake up and give a damn.

poor service and food
End year function on a Wednesday night. Very poor service with not enough waiters. Food and drinks very slow up to 45 min and asking several times. Food came out the kitchen at 10:30pm for a 7:00pm function. Food was very substandard, meet tough and cold ones at the table. Very disappointed with the overall service. Music from dj was terrible too

Worst Mothers Day Ever - Thanks to Steamworks
1st of all I phoned in for a booking with the British lady Cherry who is the general manager at Steamworks and did a booking a week and a half before mothers day. I phoned on mothers day again just to make sure my booking was ok and Luca the manager said to me that there was no booking and I was the second person that had the same problem. Thanks to Luca he arrange for a table for me. When we got there the table was right by the toilets and the bins. ( No comment) We then got given a very new waiter that messed up everything even though he was sweet he did not get the right training from Steamworks and so would have to blame management for that. Our food came at all different times and half our starters came and the other half of the starters came with the main. All the men got all their food and all the mothers got none. We ordered the Sunday Roast and it was very fatty and the one mom did not get any as they had run out of food. The manager then ask if he could get something else which took anther half an hour to get to our table so we decided to leave and go somewhere else. The manager Luca managed to take all the food off the bill as it was such a disaster. Will never go there
