Earlier this week I visited multiple storage facilities wanting to move storage. I found 2 that were 18m ˆ2 which was the space I needed and on budget. Then I made the terrible decision to visit StoreSMART in Wynberg, Cape Town. They told me they do not have a 18ˆ2 M but a much larger one - obviously at a much higher rate - I told them I don't need that much space and we bargained. The next morning Blessed who is their manager messaged me and told me that they will give me the unit for 6 months or till an 18ˆ2 M opens up at a discounted rate which was half way between my budget and theirs. This is in writing. I told him I accept and was overjoyed. I had the paperwork and there were several issues that weren't covered in the paperwork such as occupation date and first month amount to be paid and confusion as to where to put these items. The feedback became slow. I did my best and completed as far as possible adding this info. In the meantime I had given notice at the previous store, had turned down the other options. This morning having submitted last night - and there were no banking details for the deposit else that would have been paid last night already - he messages me - tells me he gave my unit to someone else - trying to offer me a 12 Mˆ2 - !? Offer me a 2 12's at the same price then! - this is just greedy and dishonest! - We had a deal and now I am "storage" homeless and I literally don't have anywhere else to go and am out of time to find a decent replacement which may cost me double moving fees too now! Shame on this company!

Total ******!!!!! Upon the sale of our two vehicles and trailer, we continued to incur parking charges. Additionally, when two items were removed from the bakkies for our supervisor's collection, we were billed for an entire third storage unit. When we sought to establish a payment arrangement, they conveniently "disposed" of our belongings valued at R300,000, including two silver antique chairs, where one of them could have settled the outstanding balance had we been permitted to sell our items. But was denied access. Ladders worth R25,000 were also "disposed" of, along with tools valued at R100,000. I did not receive an updated contract, as we initially intended to use the storage for only three months. Living in Cape Town while our belongings remained in Johannesburg was already challenging. They infringed upon my privacy, and some personal clothing and intimate items were reportedly discarded, according to Anton. However, I find it difficult to trust their statements. They are unable to provide precise information regarding the disposal of our goods, yet they excel at imposing charges. I am deeply traumatized, especially since we had sentimental paintings, and he assured me that he would revise the invoice after I reached out via email. We are pursuing legal action and filing a complaint with the consumer board. It appears they recognized the value of our possessions and profited from our misfortune. As they continued to inflate the bill and remained inflexible, they simply disposed of our items, claiming to have communicated via Whats-app. Despite our polite requests for a fair adjustment to the billing and payment arrangement, they chose to "dispose" of our belongings, which is a vague term to use. Surely, we have the right to know the whereabouts of our goods, as legally the ownership of the goods remains with us until a judgment is rendered. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE! ANTON SEEMS POLITE AT FIRST AND HELPFUL BUT IT IS ALL A ****. Its like the other consumers are saying on Hello Peter ... Tricky contracts and ********* overcharging.

I don’t understand why I have go through so much as a customer, you guys called me on Saturday to purchase a storage space and I then called you guys on Monday and spoke to a guy I don’t remember his name, I thought it was the guy from century I spoke to today on Friday 14/10/22. On the phone I was told to come in the century city branch and secure my space for R499 plus a deposit of R499, I get there and I’m treated bad by this man named Morris and he made me feel as if I’m stupid as if I don’t know what I’m talking about, he therefore tells me that that storage space is not in century but in Cape Town, so I went all the way to century for absolutely nothing after I was told that I must go there and pay, I don’t appreciate the service it was a very much horrible experience I experienced, I don’t know if that how you treat your customers but it is not good. How do you give me a price for a certain storage unit and send me to that branch to pay deposit and price for storage and then next thing I am treated like an idiot by one of the workers, speaking to other people in front of me but I’m the customer needing the service and then he goes on to make me feel stupid in front of my cousin as if what I’m talking is stupid and doesn’t exist, it’s was a horrible thing to go through and I wasted so much time and money in going there while I could have been looking somewhere else for storage space other branches where they know what their talking about.

I temporarily stored my shop goods at Storesmart for December and January. When i let them know that the 1 of 2 store rooms was empty they locked the other 1. Throwing my hands up in the air, i asked "WHY" via email, WhatsApp, web message and phone calls. Because now I can't sell! They pointed me to the contract i signed. "It says that you have to give 2 weeks notice" which i did verbally but ... R899 penalty or a months rental R2498 for my sins. I refused to pay anything "What did you do to earn it?". Thinking that i have a bolt cutter and some brown shoes nearby. I have never met Fiaz in person. But from his phone call, i would imagine him to be a lactose intolerant cheese lover. I eventually paid R100 cash to get my goods out. I didn't sign anything again tho (NDR). I let them know that by paying did not condown such bad service. "Cell phone contracts" has continued its life at Storesmart. Watch out for those!
