I am unhappy with the service I received from Street Parking Solutions. I parked and waited for an attendant so I could pay for parking, but no one came to assist me. I did not refuse to pay. I was willing to pay and waited, but there was no attendant available. When I returned to my car, I found a ticket for non-payment. This is unfair, as the issue was lack of service, not refusal to pay. I would like this matter reviewed and the ticket cancelled.

So this past Saturday was comic con. I arrived to park past 9 am. The metered parking is between 8 and 1 on Saturdays. When I arrived, I saw no marshal. I even took my own time too and didn’t rush to leave my car. I then left the con around 2pm, not yet noticing the ticket on my windshield. On my way to canal walk I kept hearing this fluttering sound. There it was, the ticket. When I arrived at canal walk, I finally had the chance to look at it. And the profound look on my face - It said the total was R0…I’m very much online oriented so I thought to go to the website listed on the ticket. I then used their emailing system. It was quite frustrating, and felt like I wasn’t at fault. So today is Tuesday, and they finally got back to me based on what I sent them on their website. They then gave me a link to pay them a whopping R10…seriously… I paid it and sent them the proof of payment on the email thread. They said they needed the PoP to update the system. I sent it and they acknowledged it. So I’m just left hoping now that they’ve actually done so. But this experience has left me astounded by the lack of professionalism. They should definitely include a payment link on the ticket instead of going through all these hoops.

WOW, what a ****... I had to go to Bellville and found Parking that said P60min. I was there for less than that. When I returned to the vehicle I was notified that I needed to pay for parking. I know nothing about Belville and there is NO mention of this "Street Parking Solutions". Who are they? I didn't have the money to pay and was threatened with a possible R500 fine if I don't pay a miserable R13. WTH, I don't carry change with me. Who does these days? I am taking this matter further as there was no clear signs that there was a fee to pay within this time limit and no one approached me until I returned to the car which was borrowed.

This company part of the reason Cape Town can not progress. A company that has absolutely no shame in taking 85,33% of a minimum wage earner pay literally just to park. 85,33%!!! The hourly parking rate is R19,79 while the minimum wage is(as from 1 march) R23,19. That means a minimum wage worker earning R208,71 before deductions then has to forfeit R178,11 for 9 hours of parking. That means that this person only earned R30,60 FOR THE DAY!!! Ridiculous, pathetic, unashamedly cruel!

Good Day I was told that I am a Son of a *****....... Firstly my mother is a very nice person and has nothing to do with my parking..... Secondly I start work at 13:00h I can't stand around like an idiot looking for your car marshals, if I received a message saying you will need to pay this next time parked, I would have been happy to pay this. On the 26 this happened as well where there was no car marshal in sight. As you can see in the image the car marshal only logged my ticket at 13:23pm. I will be taking this further as this is utterly disrespectful and not professional for a company. This is verbal abuse and I will be taking this further.

For many of us parking in Cape Town is a daily struggle we face. After a long day of work we return to our cars, dreading the traffic ahead, only to find a parking attendant appear out of nowhere to hassle us for a rediculous amount of money.

Now imagine you are four students that have to attend an open day in town. You have found a parking relatively close to where you are suppose to be, it is 8:15. Everyone gets out of the car, looks around to find a parking attendant in order to know what the parking rate is, and if it is too expensive, get back in the car and search for cheaper or free parking. But there is no sign of an attendant (please note they are to report for duty at 08:00).

After the open day everyone heads back to the car. Once in the car, the parking attendant runs out of nowhere to give a very expensive parking ticket to you. When you refuse to opay the full amount as she was not on her post when required and you would have never parked there knowing the rate is that steap, she threatens you with a even steaper fine. You kindly ask to see her superior to come to some sort of agreement.

(In your knowledge, the attendant comes to your car when you park, not after, to tell you the rate, then you either pay your estimate time and settle the rest later or pay the full amount when you have returned)

When the superior arrives, the parking attendant lies to him saying that she was there when we parked (across the street) when we all know no parking attendant was in sight. The superior only listens to her side of the story, barely hearing you out. Then he calls up all his parking buddies to form some cluster by the car, and the parking attendant publicly discusses you to random people walking past. They laugh and ridicule you.

So we phone law enforcement to clarify our rights and come deal with the situation. We inform these attendants that law enforcement is on their way and will be a mediator, as they are clearly ganging up on us. Without even waiting for law enforcement, the superiors call on another attendant to clamp the wheel, and a parking attendant hits the car's back window and boot (setting off the alarm), taunting and scaring us into paying the ticket, just to get out of this horrible situation.

Furthermore, it all occured in the midst of the student protest close to the parliament building, with students streaming down the street we were in and police firing rubber bullets (the parking attendants, whom should be public servants of safety, trapping us in the threatening situation).

I completely understand that when you park in most areas of town, you have to pay. but no one was there to inform us of the rate and due to that some sort of agreemnet could have been reached to pay half.

But, this is suppose to be a profesional company that provides a service. In no way did these employees treat us with respect. They threatened and intimidated us, and ganged up against four girls. They refused to obey to higher authority (the police) by not waiting for their arrival, even mocking the police's authority.

On the company's website it clearly states conflict resolution, customer service, and a safe parking environment as part of their training and values. Therefore I ask, where were those training and values in the way we were treated. Since when is indimidating, threatening, and endagering people acceptable behaviour???

Should we allow this treatment or is there something that can be done about it?

I hope if this has happened to other people, that they would also take a stand.

Employee Rafiek Murray damaged my vehicle as he kicked my car twice, as a result I have dents in my car. Business owner Zunade Loghdey refuses to take any responsibility nor any disciplinary action towards his employee.
