Spent Saturday evening at Swa-Zulu for a 30th birthday. After arriving (check in time was 12:00 - we arrived after 12:00) they were still busy with maintenance on the house (fixing door handles). These type of things should be done before guests arrive. We also did not have enough toilet paper (the lodge is supposed to accommodate 30 guests, we were 21)
Sunday morning Rudi complained about us transfering coals (to what seemed like a fire pit to us) in a pit that was at first according to Rudi a grave of someone - right next to the boma. Now after the whole ordeal it came to light that it actually is a drain. There is no indication anywhere that we were not allowed to make a fire (transfer coals) - so this really was an honest mistake. Rudi came to the lodge Sunday morning with a hostile attitude and immediately started raising his voice without even listening to us trying to explain that we thought it was a fire pit. After we apologized and the pit was cleaned (it looked exactly as it did when we arrived), Rudi made comments in front of all our guests (I believe if you have an issue, you can talk to us like adults, and not make a scene like he did) - he said to us that 'no normal person' would do something like that and chased us away, He demanded us to leave his property immediately and we are not allowed to make breakfast as we planned - it was after all my husbands 30th birthday. His workers started packing away the chairs while we were still sitting there and his 'partner' stood there, watching us like a hawk untill we left. All of us are adults so nothing gives you the right to treat your guests like you did. All of our guests would have returned to your lodge, untill the way you treated all of us this morning - You are extremely rude and have NO people skills!
