I booked as a bday gift for my sister and husband and i called the hotel prior to arrange something in room for the birthday and they confirmed on system it was arranged. After the stay my sister informed me that nothing was done. I called today as i want to book a stay for my moms 60th 4 rooms and i just wanted to make sure that before i book it wont be the same. I got transferred from reception to reservations back to reception only to be told a duty manager will call me. No one called me. The taj has a certain level of expectations especially the brand in India and we expect much more professional treatment. Very disappointed esp for the price you pay.

Such a nice hotel with incredible staff. The food is amazing - definitely recommend a drink at the bar and dinner in the restaurant (with their local pianist), and the breakfast is amazing (awesome juices!). While the hotel itself is amazing, it is only topped by the staff, who are first class in every way. Also worth noting that the hotel is tucked away in Houghton, a nice and mostly safe part of Cae Town.

One of South Africa's best hotels with exceptional staff who really strive to make your stay wonderful. This is an extremely adult-friendly hotel and beats the One and Only in price tenfold! If you're planning to go to Cape Town, then you'll be inclined to stay in the resort for a weekend stay rather than to go out so I suggest that you try their lovely breakfast buffet. I was disappointed to see that they do not have a dinner buffet because I am sure that they would knock it out of the ballpark! So breakfast is a must, once again amazing service and breath taking views of the city depending on the room you get. My only con is that they do not have on-site parking. You have to trust a valet to take your car, and then they are not liable for scratches or dents... my Range Rover's rim got scratched. No biggie, but I would have preferred to park her myself. You also have to rive everywhere because it is not exactly close to hot spots like the V&A, but that is South Africa for you. I still highly recommend it over all else.

It is still the best hotel that you can go to for the price (in Cape Town, yes, the BEST), but there are a few things that I would like to see changed. I was able to stay in a suite last weekend. Here are my observations: 1. There are no trash bins in the rooms. I end up having to order something from Checkers just because their bags are bigger than the lineless bins that come with the room. 2. The fridge has very little space and no freezer for frozen goods. 3. The lack of modern South African plugs is very evident. They use one of the older standards, so many ports around the room are unusable.

Beautiful restaurant, the decor and food is amazing and transports you to another world altogether. Staff are friendly and attentive. A perfect place to take your date and tantalize his or her tastebuds.

The Taj is the best hotel in all of Cape Town. Perhaps I would put it next to the One and Only, but for a hotel that is half the price, I think that is amazing. Where to start?? The hotel is clean, the staff are all very very kind and professional, the included breakfast is amazing (multiple courses), the building is beautiful, you get all of the amenities that you desire, the food in the inhouse restaurant is delectable and fresh every. single. time. It is mind boggling how perfect this place is. They even have technicians on call in case something like the toilet or AC breaks. There is no making this stuff up -- they have thought of everything. I actually do not have a single thing to complain about because they always fix the problems before they get annoying, and they are quick! I suppose that the only thing that I am not sure about is the inhouse laundry service. It is very expensive, and there is no way to get things simply washed and ironed on a whim like everything else (perhaps they have spoiled me!). One thing that I would like to suggest they add is a car wash addon. I brought my Rover in and they parked it, but I just came from the mountains and Karoo.. my vehicle was messy, and I would have loved to get it spiffed up a bit.

I unfortunately had a terrible experience at the Taj Hotel based in Cape Town on the 28 September 2021 Which left me with a painful and inflamed foot. On arrival I had slipped due to the negligence of the staff at the taj hotel, in the hall way there was a great portion on food laying on the floor left unattended with no indication or signage whatsoever, I then went to the bathroom to wash away the food from my foot and shoe after asking the manager to bring me a chair and he failed to do so, thereafter I was seated in the restaurant where the service was extremely poor and got served in a filthy teapot
