If I could give this company a negative star I would. What a weird and thoroughly unprofessional set-up they have. I lodged a request for service to repair a fridge through their website -www.appliancerepaircentre.co.za. (Appliance Repair Center Fairways Cape Town.) The next day I received an email saying they could help and asking when I would be available for them to send a technician. I rep**** immediately that there was someone available all day - I received no reply. A day and a half later I e-sent my e-mail with two question marks at the top -"??" i.e. are you going to reply to me and let me know when you can send someone? I then received a weird series of WhatsApp messages on my phone starting with asking if I "was ok" and "you seem agitated" "we don't want to insult you" with me replying each time I simply want to know "if and when you can assist" and stating that I was not insulted, I just want an answer. The messages (riddled with grammatical and spelling errors) grew weirder and weirder with them then saying they can't send a technician to me because they would be "concerned for the technician's safety" and accusing me of being "agitated and aggressive". (I have retained the conversations on my phone as proof that at no stage did I ever show any signs of being agitated or aggressive.) If this is how they interact with prospective customers, then I'd hate to see what would happen once they actually (if ever) pitch up to do the work? I asked for an apology for their accusations and they were not interested in doing so but sent a half-baked version of saying "sorry but...." i.e. no real apology. I have consequently taken the step of posting this negative review to warn any others who might get taken by this act. Definitely one to avoid, wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

<div>The service was great. A technician was sent the same day. He was punctual , knowledgeable and sorted the problem. It was a dishwasher that was not draining. I highly recommend this technician and company</div>

******* and a **** - my SMEG appliance was picked up in December and never returned. I was fobbed off for 3 months and now they claim it is not with them. The **** is they pick up your appliance then presumably go and sell it. Do not trust.

My Speedqueen was leaking, and needed a service. Appliance Repairs Centre quoted me R3800 to service and repair. It was returned a few days later and the first time I used the machine it leaked more than ever, so was collected for repair again. A few days later it was returned and the first wash resulted in the clothing being covered in grease. Returned for the third time, and again and the first wash flooded the laundry. Then Anthony told me the leak was nowhere near where they had worked, and the quote was another R3700 to repair. Come on guys - this was the initial problem!!! Dumped the machine and had to buy a new one. Do yourself a favour: stay away from this company.

I had a rather bad experience the second of using this company to quote repair work on our Samsung front loader washing machine. The first contact was to establish the cost just to look at the machine to establish what needs replacing. I was advise by Chris that i need to pay R180 which i did. A few days later I received a call from one of the staff. The repiar work is for a gasket and bearings. Cost would be R 1600. I gave the go ahead. Then i received a call a second time from the technician David who informed me that there's more damage and the spider arm must be replaced. I was shocked to the core. Questioning what was the R180 for then. Was it not to open the whole machine? He didn't answer. So I left there and said I contact them again. Instead Chris called and told me the same thing about the spider arm. I asked the same question about the R180. But he just made excuses. He 2as very unprofessional. I wasn't happy. I told him I'll get back to them. A week later I asked for the machine back. Then and argement ensued about storage costs and fine print that was on the tear off slip, and who should explain what....a whole lot of trash etc... not professional from Chris. So I acknowledge that I was wrong. We ended the conversation and I left. I then fetched the machine the next day only to wait 1 hour because it was being reassembled. Bad really bad. I will never go back there.
