My husband and family stayed at the hotel on the 28th November my husband worked with a tour group .So we joined him at the hotel.We were treated by a lady Samantha with such ****** attitude .We paid for the room R500 and we had to pay an extra R530 for dinner after we were told we don't have to pay. for the dinner.Its not about the money but the attitudes of the front desk receptionist and Liezl working in revenue. The hotel is dirty and there are rats running in the roof. You can actually hear the rats running around. So noisy and unhygienic. I definitely wouldn't recommend this establishment for overseas tourists. Very bad attitudes of white staff.I stayed in many hotels before and by far this us the worst hotel stay I ever experienced. They even phoned the tour company saying my husband doesn't want to pay but my husband couldn't answer the phone because he was driving and out of town. They even sent an email to the company that he works for .Very disrespectful and unprofessional.

My partner and I were woken up by security and management to vacate the room, as they were seemingly unaware of the late checkout that I had requested. I felt like a ******** and we left immediately as we felt exceptionally uncomfortable. For the record, if your staff noted the request made, your team would have proper communication in this regard. Communication is key in a business. Something that needs to made clear to all your staff. This occurence has left an extremely sour taste in my mouth. In the past week, I have brought high-end clients for lunch meetings and have spent in excess of R15k at the establishment (******, Verandah And the hotel stay itself) Going forward, I will move all business elsewhere, as I will Never again be treated in this manner! I am HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED

I am a regular at this hotel for the last 44 years. Since the Boardwalk Mall has opened, access to the safe parking of the hotel has been a major problem, with Uber and other taxi`s using the entrance to the parking area as a taxi rank. The management of the hotel, and the poor parking attendant/security guard, do not seem to consider this an issue for their customers. And one can see the effect in the fewer customers during the last 2 years.

Worst service ever, definitely not deserving of the so called "4-stars". My mother took me for my 30th birthday, and The Beach Hotel contacted her to ask if she wanted to make special arrangements such as flowers, balloons, a cake etc to make the room look special for me. My mother made arrangements, and when we arrived nothing was in the room. They also said they usually do complementary platters for special occasions, which was also not in the room. My mom went to reception area to ask about it, and the lady said she is not aware of any balloons etc, but she knows the platter is done and it just needs to be taken to the room. They never brought it to the room. Needless to say, everyone my mom spoke to said they were never informed of any special arrangements, and the lady responsible kept avoiding us even though multiple people said they have escalated the matter to her. She eventually phoned my mother a week after the incident and confessed that she forgot. No sincere apology, no trying to make it up to us. The lack of service ruined the whole evening, and my mother also got food poisoning. The reception also could not advise where the closest place was for me to get medication for my mother, as she had been sick the whole night. I would have expected that the staff of a "4-star" hotel would be more knowledgeable about their surroundings. They simply did not care that their lack of attention to detail resulted in a bad experience for my 30th birthday. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

For our first time being there it was amazing!! Took my fiancé out today for his birthday and we absolutely loved it. the food was amazing and the waiters and staff was so professional and so friendly. we will definitely come back for more in the near future.

Shocking service at The Verandah Restaurant last night! Food and presentation - 100% Service and Staff - 1% Took over an hour and a half to receive ONE pizza. Seems everyone was being served before we finally got to have the pizza at 9:30pm and paying for it at 9:57! This despite arriving just after 8:20pm! Shocking!
