I won a complimentary stay for 2 which is valid for six months and this prize was won in August. Since this date I have been trying to claim the reward for a Saturday stay at the above property and it is unbelievable as they advise they are unable to assist with this as it is currently peak period until February next year. This is ridiculous as how can you award a prize and we can't use it because it is peak period for six months. Absolutely terrible. Won't stay with them even if when I book on bookings.com.

Good day My family are loyal customers. I'm Dec 2023, I made a booking for my mum. I am in Hong Kong. My mum fell sick and I asked to push the date to January, believing my mum will get well. My mum suffered a heart attack and cannot go anywhere. I informed the Pearl and asked to get a refund. I am in Hong Kong and not able to go to South Africa. The Admin was so insensitive and said I lost all the money I paid. No refunds. This is *******. I paid for nothing and this situation needs special concession. My mum was excited to go to the hotel but fell sick. That is not her fault and why be penalised for something we can't control. Please can I get a refund . I think it is only fair as we are loyal customers and come every year. Thank you

My husband and I recently booked a trip to the Capital Pearls uMhlanga, for 3 nights, however at the time of reservation, my husband and I did not confirm that the month in which the booking was, was correct (we only confirmed that the dates were correct). Needless to say, when the date approached, (the dates we thought we had booked for), we realised that we had then booked for the previous month. We have reached out to the Capital Pearls uMhlanga for a voucher of some sort or the opportunity to rebook our trip at an alternative date (so that we are not completely out of pocket as no refund was requested, just an opportunity to reschedule) and we were informed that it cannot be done. See response directly from management: "I would have offered some sort of voucher or credit in the month for the month – however with the month passing it’s difficult to amend. It will be almost impossible to amend on my side as its closed off already." It should also be advised that no one from the hotel reached out to us during that period to confirm why we have not checked in. The booking/reservation just went by and now it is do difficult to offer a client/guest who had fully paid for their trip but did not pitch or make use of any of their facilities no credit or voucher. Please stay away from The Capital Pearls UMhlanga- poor management & a bunch of *******.

What can I say about the incompetence of this place the management cant do their jobs a simple re fund takes 3 weeks to do and yet still have not received a cent... I spent almost R5000 for a 2 night stay and unfortunately the stay was very unpleasant my wife and I decided to check out early due to racist remarks being thrown at us and I requested a full refund it has been 3 weeks since then and still nothing has been returned it is disgusting to think that this is how they work at this establishment and want to run this hotel I would never recommend this place for anyone its a very sad reality...

Booked a room through Agoda, it was confirmed and money debited on my card on the 13th of October 2021. I flew from Johannesburg to Durban only to be told when i arrived at the property that there are no rooms and they can't accommodate me, they told me that they can't assist even with the refund, that i must contact Agoda. I was stuck trying to find accommodation at night without assistance from the hotel, they just didn't care. I am still struggling to get my refund from Agoda.

Moved into the apartments a month back and this is what I discovered: 1. The hotel cleaning service is different from the apartments, you will probably need to phone a million people to get this scheduled. 2. Nearly non of the staff knows about the apartment rooms, so you'll need to explain after every call on where your room is. 3. Basically an apartment where you can order food from downstairs. Sheets, bedding...etc are your responsibility. 4. I was told there is an App that has everything you need, but that was a big lie. I ask for the app and none of the staff even know what I'm talking about. 5. I once went to the pool area around 8pm (2 hours before curfew) and the manager said I wasn't supposed to be there, yet I was there everyday prior. The next day I see a whole bunch of people at the pool area around 9pm so I don't even think the staff knows the rules. Summary: The "Staying at a hotel" is just for show to get you interested, you're basically on your own. I would recommend spending the money on a bigger place.

Disgusted at their service after I have been staying there for years on holiday with my family. Called reception 8 times no answer (have proof). I told them I Am bringing a child and no provision was made for my child, ice was on sale ????air conditioning was terrible. this hotel for me is a zero out of hundred 0/100
