Oh my goodness, please do yourself a favour and book a weekend here if you adore Edwardian comfort in this truly graciously aged Guesthouse ( with a fascinating history ). We found ourselves without accommodation, on my husbands B'day weekend, after being thoroughly disappointed with our booking at Chartfield House! What a truly lovely experience and as they say a happy accident. The decor is suburb. The Hostess was just the right amount of friendly, helpful and discreet. The room we had ( and from what I could see of the others ) was quiet, airy and spacious, beautifully decorated, and very, very comfortable! Lots of extras, like a teeny bar fridge, kettle, hairdryer plus coffee and tea in the room PLUS more free hot drinks in the kitchen as well as an honesty bar! Also, free WiFi. The wide surround veranda bedecked with comfy day beds was a treat, with beautiful views of the village, the sea and the mountain. Restaurants, bakery, coffee shops and tidal pool all within easy walking distance. We did not use our car once! Loads of places to get comfortable with a book upstairs or downstairs. What a gem! We will definitely be back again and again!
