I am an elderly lady that out of desperation took my dog to the society after I was told that they are excellent. But I had such a bad experience (Tuesday 19-08-2025) I landed with a (very young and in my opinion inexperienced) Vet...very friendly lady...that absolutely had no idea about the problem I have with my dog. After explaining everything X3 and also reminding her that the private Vet send an e-mail I was told that she could not open the e-mail. Luckily I had copy on my phone, she then opened the little dogs mouth - not very gently,,,painful....and told me that she does not think that they can assist me. I must go back to my vet and let them handle it. I then thanked her, took my dog and left, needless to say in tears. The bottom line is she did not call in one of her colleagues (maybe more experienced) to get second opinion.

After speaking to an ex MALE employee, there is a total lack of values from this NPO. Donations get used for parties and maintaining the over priced building. Nothing to do with animals. The CEO has no clue about business unless the business is hitting on married men. Disgusting company lead by a perverted chairman. My SPAR will not be providing any further donations

Fantastic Experience with The Society for Animals In Distress located in Mirand. Receptionist goes above and beyond to assist and inform. The staff are friendly, kind and have real love for animals. The facility is stunning, clean, classy and professional. This is really an NPO I will love to support over and over again!
