Thule offered a lifetime warranty on their luggage when I purchased the Thule Subterra Wheeled Duffel 75L. I have had it for 9 years but the stitching is coming apart, tabs come off the zipper and the inner carcass is also broken. When I contacted Thule they said they have never had a lifetime warranty.... which is not true and was also the reason for purchasing the very expensive bag at the time. Disappointing as I did believe they were an honourable brand and had subsequently purchased more of their products. I did also really enjoy the bag but this type of back peddling on their policy is not something that anyone would want to in a brand. Go

I bought brand new evo roof bars from a Thule store. First off your manuals are just diagrams with zero explanation. After much struggling To figure out your useless manuals I finally figure out how to install the rubbers in the roof bars. Well that was what I was trying to do and thought would be easy. After 3 hours.. and only one successfully installed, the other three rubbers proved impossible. I’m tried heating them with boiling water to soften them.. no luck. I then tried using oil and cooling the rubbers n the freezer to make them more rigid… still no luck. This is not the first Thule product that I have major issues and If it weren’t for the fact that no other brand of roof rack fits my car i would never have walked in your store in the first place. Having done so I’ve been confronted with nothing but frustration, a burn on my hand and an oil soaked garage floor and still no roof bars installed on my roof. Fix your manuals and fix your products!!!

On Monday last week my husband and I visited the Thule store in Southdowns Shopping Centre for the second time in a short period. This time however, regarding a hydration bag. The store did not have the one my husband wanted to buy and the staff ordered it. My husband had to attend a meeting on Friday so he was not able to collect the bag and therefore I collected the bag. Prior to going to the store; I called my husband to confirm which bag he ordered and he said it was the Vitality 8 liter bag in black. I called the store to confirm if they did in fact receive the bag and I was that did get the bag, but that, they did call him on Thursday, but he did not answer or call back. Excuse me??? So Thule Southsdowns only calls clients once, and if the client doesn’t answer, they don’t leave a message? Don’t try again, or send a sms or whatsapp? So according to Thule Southdowns the client is at fault? Anyway, during the course of the week, we continued to discuss if the bigger bag was the better option, however, despite or discussion and as my husband did in fact order the 8l bag on Monday, he set aside X amount for the bigger 8l bag. On the way to the store we discussed it again over the phone and we both agreed that the bigger bag was in fact the better option. As I walked in, I greeted the two salesmen and said I was there to collect the bag which was ordered for my husband. When I opened the bag, I noticed it was in fact the 6 liter bag and not the 8 liter bag as requested. Also the price was X less R 500.00. I said to both guys that this was not the correct bag. Both argued with me and said, no, it’s absolutely correct; that my husband wanted the 6l and not the 8l and that they even wrote it down, and my husband was the one who couldn’t decide between the 6l and the 8l. WOAH!!!!!! I was stunned! Is this how Thule Southdowns treat and talk to potential clients? I tried calling my husband to confirm the above and as he was in a meeting I could not get a hold of him. Due to the above-mentioned, I decided to purchase the bag. My mistake. On my way out, the older assistant who was outside, mockingly said - oh so you got a hold of you husband. Gloating because he thought he was right and I misunderstood my husband. Shocking! He wasn’t right! He was arrogant and condescending. What I don’t get, if we for some strange reason did order the 6l, which I can guarantee you was not the case, why would your staff argue with a client? Do they not understand customer service 101 - Give the client what they want! Ask the client, if this is not what you want, what can we get for you? To add insult to injury, it was an UPSELL, I wasn’t trying to buy something cheaper. When my husband returned my call, he in fact confirmed that it was in fact the 8l and not the 6l as the staff at Thule Southdowns were so sure off. The staff at Southdowns very condescending and arrogant and treated us like they were doing us a favour, so the experience at Thule Southdowns was horrible to say the least. I then decided to go to your Menlyn Maine branch to exchange the bag for the correct one. The staff were friendlier and more helpful. They had the correct bag in stock, and I was able to exchange the bag. However, to finalise the exchange, the staff member had to contact the area manager to confirm if the exchange was allowed. Sjoe! I can guarantee you, I wil never go back to the Thule store in Southdowns.

Why is it so that shop assistants busy with a timeous transaction often have not got the courtesy of acknowledging the presence of a waiting customer? Surely this gesture will ease the impatience of a waiting customer. Exactly this happened to me collecting an item at Thule Gift Acres Pretoria on Sunday 28th August. The only shop assistant was busy with a couple, totally engrossed in his engagement with them bluntly ignoring my presence. If I had not paid for the item already, I would have walked off never to return again.

@thule_sa my roof rack and bike rack were stolen last week Thursday night from my Ford Fiesta in Gezina. Grossly dissatisfied and disappointed. No damage to my car though. I thought the Thules were not easily stolen due to the locks. Given my experience I wouldn’t advise anyone to get a roof rack as they are easily stolen , not sure if THULE has any guarantees as result

I recently bought Thule roof racks for my Ford Ranger from Thule Willowbridge as I have always found Thule's products trustworthy, durable and secure. Much to my dismay when I awoke one morning and found both roof racks has been removed and stolen from my vehicle during the night. (so much for safe and secure roof racks) ! I luckily retrieved them as the thieves were caught. I had to drive 50km to the Thule branch at Willowbridge Shopping Mall in Bellville to have it refitted on my vehicle again. I am very frustrated with the store manager at this branch. It was a very unpleasant experience to have my roof racks stolen as it is supposed to be secured on the vehicle. The manager did not show any empathy for my experience and then continued to charge me R150.00 for their 10 minutes of labor to refit the roof racks back unto the vehicle. I refused to pay for this and told them I cannot believe he is charging me for this, I expect them to provide this free of charge based on the circumstances. He was extremely rude and continued to argue with me and actually said that I am a cheap skate that wants things for free. Not good customer service at all. I wont be supporting this branch again.

The guys at Thule were SUPER helpful! They bent over backwards to help me find a bike rack solution for a difficult car. And they didn't even give me half a grain of attitude when everything had to be undone, reversed, and removed. Amazing service from Thule Boksburg!!
