Thys Properties isn't the best rental agent, they aren't professional at all. I signed a lease renewal October 2021 Anda month later, got a notice to leave the flat on November 2021, I have a new born baby and I had to find I new rental in less then a month. My deposit is being held hostage , for expenses that have nothing to do with me. Their lease says deposit will be paid within 14 days. It has been 16 days and they will close their offices, without paying my deposit back. My family needs this money, my 3 month old baby doesn't have clothes that fit her and I need to buy them with this money. I'm suffering and they are not taking this seriously I need help! ASAP

Thys Properties isn't the best rental agent, they aren't professional at all. Thys Seymore treated my mother (65) with outright contempt! 1. They allowed her to enter into a lease agreement on a property that was for sale without informing her openly. Opting to hide the sale in a "special conditions" part of the lease. 2. They ignored her requests to repair urgent items such as a gate that does not lock as well as a toilet that doesn't flush for close to 2 weeks. Thus putting my elderly mother at risk both in terms of her health and her safety. 3. Their agents treated her complaints lightly and showed an utter lack of empathy for her dignity and well-being. My family's experience of them has been infuriating , stressful and heartbreaking. I will really think twice before ever doing business with them. At the time of writing this review my mother (65) would've been locked into a lease agreement where she has to occupy a unit that has a gate that does not lock and does not have a working toilet whilst paying her monthly rental of R6500.00 per month. Furthermore, she would be at risk of COVID should people try to view the unit that is for sale! If that doesn't break your heart, I really don't know what will.

This agency only cares about money and not clients. They will have an excuse for everything and blame you, the client, when anything goes wrong. As an owner, you pay them a fee to manage the property but you will end up spending more time following up to get results as they do not give you feedback of their own accord. I ended up having to manage the tenant and property myself. They still deducted their monthly fee though. Absolutely rude, money-grubbing bunch of useless agents. Would not recommend to my worst enemy. Please do yourself a favour and hire an agency who will actually manage your property, not one that gets paid while you do the work. So many more examples of unprofessional behavior, but honestly, I'm just glad to be rid of them for good.

At first they put a tenant in my property that they said they did a clearance check on. With the first payment already I struggled to get my money on-time. A few months down the line again they are late with their payments going over to two months in a row. Almost every week I have to call the agency to follow up just to hear the same excuses over and over again. After I gave instruction that the tenant be given notice they charged me for the outgoing inspection they had to do and then I had to repeatedly ask them to the inspection list to only get it more than a week later. Upon receiving the keys, one of the tags are missing. This is unprofessional and unacceptable service form Thys Seymore.

As expected, my ex-landlord does not want to return the deposit! But what really surprises me, is the bad service from the rental agency "Thys Seymore Properties". They don't even answer my emails! From all the possible emails I contacted, only one answers, the lady in charge of maintenance, everybody else including the agent just ignores me. I have been asking for the last two weeks for my statement, the receipt for my last payment and the list of "issues" why the landlord is delaying the return of my deposit. I was expecting that renting through an agency would have been smoother than renting directly! But an agency like this does not care about what the law says with regard to the rights of the Tenant. All they care about is the money coming in! Note: Do not use an agency like this!

Hi Kindly assist I rented my property to thys more properties last year, and the tenant was struggling to make monthly payments, we decided to terminate the contract end of November, the agent came and assessed my property, we took photos and all the things that needed to be replaced or repaired, the tenant completely damaged my property, I had to do repairs from my own pocket, while I was waiting for the agent to refund the deposit, I asked several times when m I receiving the deposit, they not responding to me, I need assistance, I have spent a lots of money to fix my house at least if they can refund the deposit Thanks

<p>Long story short...We made use of the above agents to rent out our property and we paid a percentage to the agents to look after our property for two years! Neadless to say the above mentioned never happened!!! First of all they only did a site/property inspection ONCE in the two years on our request, Never on their own!! Surely they get paid to make sure the owners property get looked after by the tenant and that the tenant pay on time??... Well, none of this happened! We had to deal and phone the tenant on numerous occasions to request payment etc!!! Unexceptable !!! When we moved back to our property, the tenant just disappeared without paying the last two weeks rental as well as an astronomical bill of damage were done to our property!!! Once again the agent did not do their job to ensure the propert was left in a satisfying state (as received by tenant two years ago)! Apart from damages, some of our fitting were stolen from the property which the agent still haven't retrieved after 3-4months after moving in. They are covering the tenant the entire time and WE AS THE OWNERS just have to wait patiently day in and day out for our two weeks rent as the agents "try" to get hold of the tenants whom just dissappeared of the face of the earth for the last 3-4 Months!!!! We are not even talking about the damages of between R70,000.00 to R100,000.00 done to our property!!!! How long are they going to play cat and mouse with us and pay us what is legally ours?? This is really honestly the WORST service I have ever had!!!!!</p>
