Shocking would be a compliment! Dirty boat, untrained staff, and barely luxurious. Definitely not 5 stars; at best, 2-3 stars. inedible food. When you complain, the owner gets all snotty and defensive. Basically a ****-show! Here is my complaint. You can now decide if this company is for you or not. I was so excited to have been given the opportunity to go on a 5 star yacht cruise, which I have wanted to do all my life. This is normally a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It was like a dream come true. So before I leave my scathing review on Facebook, I thought I send you an email about our experience and give you the opportunity to reply. their answer: I'm not sure where you come from with a 5 Star vessel but yes we are one the VIP in our Industry in the V&A for the past 27 years , which I have wanted to do all my life. This is normally a once in a lifetime experience. It was like a dream come true You are right and you have been blessed by having the best weather you can get in Cape Town . So before I leave my scathing review on Facebook I thought I pop you an email about our experience and give you the opportunity to reply. 1. I had to change the booking to a later time because of the Argus race. I called to change the time, which you guys kindly did change my booking to 45 minutes later, & is greatly appreciated. It would have been nice if you guys informed me that the cruise destination would be altered because the yacht can’t be out at night. I then would have had the opportunity to decide if I wanted to book an alternative date which is what I would have opted for. We were out cruising for 20 minutes then returned back to the harbour. This was supposed to be a 3 hour CRUISING yacht experience. Instead I spent it in the harbour. I could have gone out for dinner at the restaurant in front of the yacht and had a 5 star meal there. Their answer: On that point you had 2 chat with Xavier and on the last he mentioned that traffic will be re open around 14h00 so if you had left at 17h00 you had plenty time to arrive at the normal boarding time ( 18h00 ) Also if you come to the Waterfront using the back road it was completely open and all the charters we had before yours did not suffer from the restriction due to the race . I then would have had the opportunity to decide if I wanted to book an alternative date which is what I would have opted for.We turn Business away from your charter has been confirmed and it was too short notice to resell your slot especially as I said early on , they was other ways to access to the Waterfront We were out cruising for 20 minutes then returned back to the harbour You arrived at 18h50 as per my Skipper and although we suppose to back at the mooring half an hour after Sunset the Skipper pushed it until 20h45 which is one hour . Instead I spent it in the harbour. I could have gone out for dinner at the restaurant in front of the yacht and had a 5 star meal there. 2. When I called to secure the booking I specifically said gluten free & alcohol free. I would have expected a little courtesy and accommodation in this regard. You only had sweet alcohol-free champagne. All your snacks were gluten and carbs, your biltong was dry & old. Their answer: the booking was made by Mr Buma Denis and no specific dietary requirement were mentioned then You called directly my office to inquiry about a third person and again no specific dietary requirement were mentioned . We cater for special dietary requirement as you will see in your invoice for the third person at the bottom of the T&C ( attached ). You only had sweet alcohol-free champagne. All your snacks were gluten and carbs, your biltong was dry & old. 3. I would never have agreed to game fish as a fish-main as we're allergic to game fish. So my wife did not have any dinner. Their answer: Regards to your comments on the food , my chef confirmed that despite all your comments all of you eat everything and effectively left the dessert 4. Your boat is dirty and needs a revamp. I was expecting a 5 star cruise. What I received was 2-3 star at best & way below par. Their Answer: The boat had a busy season and effectively some TLC need to be done and that is what we doing in winter time but in the meantime we believe we are keeping in pretty good condition our vessel being one of the top boat in the V&A 5. I also had to pay R1800 for a 3rd person to attend the cruise. R1800 for a piece of game fish & a few carbie snacks, SERIOUSLY? Do you honestly think that what you supplied was worth R1800? Their answer: Please have a look at our Private charter rates ( attached ) and you will see that the normal price for 3 hours should be R 38 660+ R 420 x 3 ( meal ) = R 38 660 The price charged for this package is discounted by 41% because it is ONLY FOR 2 . We made an exception by accepting a third person in your case so to use your own word it is not a rip off 6. You serve margarine ( their answer: Terribly sorry we only use butter) instead of butter and the spice is Aromat which is full of MSG (their answer: terribly sorry we only use garlic butter) on the fish and basting sauce on the meat . Come now people step up your game it’s really unprofessional and a I feel totally ripped off. Their answer: Lastly I believed you spend quite a lot of time discussing with my Skipper and all was fine , when the food was serve no comments were made so everybody was really surprise after reading your comments !! Sounds like a fabulous company and one with which you would definitely want to go cruising? Their grammar and spelling say it all. No attention to detail, you can expect the same experience on their yacht.
JUST A NOTE TIGGER WHAT DO YOU THINK THE DEFINITION OF LUXURIOUS IS? I’m really not impressed.
