This company drilled a borehole for me in March 2025. They cannot be recommended, they did a very sloppy job, no earth for the electric cable, the rope was not one piece but joined several times, the problems go on and on. When confronted with the problems they were extremely rude and abusive, also threatening me.

I did not have a good experience with Top Boreholes. I spent over R300k on a borehole with them and did not get a single litre out of the hole. Aeron drilled the hole after Brendon came to site. Jim installed the installation. First, he dropped the electric cable down the hole and we nearly lost the hole. Then (after I had to get a second company to come because they were unresponsive and shifted blame) Jim wired the pump in reverse. Then when the pump was working the weight of the water pulled everything out the top cap and the hole was blocked again. Again, Top Boreholes refused to help. The second company did their best to get it out but found the steel casing to be loose and the end result the hole filled with mud and is useless. Top Boreholes still won't take responsibility and all that money is gone and the client/me has nothing to show for it. These guys just want to drill and hole and they do not respond or help if things go wrong. I had a bad experience with them.

Be warned by Top Boreholes. Brendon the owner is abusive and aggressive. He was approached and asked to turn off his incredibly noisy compressor at 5 pm on a Friday evening in a residential area and he got abusive and became violent with a neighbour. He is a disgrace to the borehole business and should allowed to operate. If anyone out here has any other complaints about him please post your experiences.

I would like to inform you about a company operating in the Constantia / Southern Suburbs in Cape Town by the name of TOP BOREHOLES. The owner is Brendon Grundlingh . About his service i am most dissapoInted and disgusted. I gave him R22500 as a 50% deposit when he started. I told him to drill to 48m , which he agreed on. The final depth he drilled to was 47.5m , but when it came to installing the pipes, when he got the pipes to 36m he could not go any further. They struggled for another 30 min by having 7 guys climb and hang on the pipe trying to weigh it down. When he could not get it down he turned around and told me they only drilled to 36m. I made my intentions known that i was not happy about the depth, he would not compromise for me the customer, he promised me that from his "years" of experience that i would have sufficient yield and unfortunately I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He hurriedly connected the pump and off he went leaving all his equipment in my yard, and did not wait to check my water flow at all before leaving. That night I measured the flow of water and i was getting 150 liters per hour. I thought let me leave the pump off for a few hours and let me see it will build up, i left it off for 5 hours and i got a total of 250 liters. Yes i understand every borehole is different and that some yield more than others, but I later discovered he had used 7 bags of cement ( 300kg) to establish the hole while he drilled. This he did while I out and only discovered it seeing all the empty bags of cement. No wonder i have such a poor flow. He says it is a trick that not many people know about. As i was upset with my flow and yield I tried to contact Brendon on Sunday as he told me he was finished with the job and was sending his team in on Monday to collect his equipment, so i would not see him again. He did not answer my calls or Whatsapp and was avoiding me at all cost. After getting the police involved it was suggested I get someone from a reputable company to take a look at the site to see if what Top Boreholes had done was good or bad. Sam from De Wets Boreholes was kind enough to fit me into his busy schedule, and came out to my property straight away. He looked at the equipment and the finished product , and from his 33 years of experience has never heard of cement being used to establish a borehole. The piping was of inferior quality, the slots put in the pipe were not good, the drill bit was a home made contraption, and he had forced the hole and that was why it collapsed. So finally I let Brendon blow out the hole and reflush it, with most of the time being used by his team to quickly loading up his trailer. He left 2 hours before they had finished and did not bother stay to see if there was any improvement to the flow. As soon as the pump was connected his team was in the car and off, no one stayed to see if there was any improvement. So R22,500 later, I am left with a garden that is a huge mess and NO water, It was extremely frustrating as have been stolen from point blank. Please let people know of TOP BOREHOLES as they are extremely unprofessional and incompetent!!!!!
