I was left stranded with no accomodation! My whole weekend was messed up! I made a booking online for accomodation at Iqhayiya Guest House is Durban Montclair but when i got there i was told that the guest house is fully book and they could not accomodate me! She told us that she told told them at Trivago that shes fully booked but they still took our booking. I was suprised because even after i had booked for my stay the house was still on the site showing that they are still takong booking so the owner of that place gave use R450 and told us to go to anotber place on chatsworth for the night and we will then see where we go the next day! So i plaid R1300.00 for two nights and was given R450 and stranded the whole weekend! I went online to check for people to assist me with this i got international numbers that dont go through! I want my money back!!

On the 10th of September 2021, I made a booking via Trivago, paid online and got a Hotel Voucher via email. When I got to Pavilion Hotel in Durban, I was told that Hotel is fully booked, since I booked via that platform I was given a piece of paper with Agoda"s numbers and told to call them and sort it our with them. I had to drive 2 and half hour back home during cafew hours. I was adviced not to ever use this platform to book for a place to stay and I agree. May someone from Trivago or Agoda please arrange for me to get my. Money back.

I booked a hotel room at the Premier Hotel ICC in East London via a weekend special on Trivago. It was supposed to be a standard room with 2 double beds. However when we got there, I was told that standard rooms did not come with 2 double beds. I had to book an additional room for R1050. It's been a month now and the issue has not been resolved. Really poor service from Trivago

I searched online for accommodation and found the Trivago website link. When I entered the site, I was shown that the lowest price was with an agent named VRBO. I click on that link and was directed to their website. I booked the tickets online and paid by entering my credit card details. Payment went off immediately. When I contacted the guesthouse owner, I was told by her that she had no agreement with VRBO and also never signed up. It was a scam according to her. She said that they took the photos from her website and created this advert on their site. I then went onto the VRBO site and cancelled my transaction. There is only a international phone number which I am unable to dial and a online chat function. I went onto online chat and once I ask about my cancellation and refund, the agent disconnects the chat. There is no email address available. They cut me off and ignore me. I have not received my money back. I contacted Trivago as they are partnered with VRBO and should take responsibility. They just told me that VRBO has been vetted and that they only act as an agent. I must contact VRBO myself to sort this out. Very poor service from Trivago. Not assisting me. Just passing the buck. I trusted this site due to it being well known from adverts on TV. DO NOT BOOK ONLINE. Rather work directly with guesthouses and hotels as you might end up like me, no accommodation received and no refund! The vendor also has a ridiculous cancellation policy and charges for things like cleaning of the room. The booking fee is just as much as the entire accommodation fee. This is dollars too. With SA Rand, it truly is way too expensive.

Trivago is ripping off customers with wrong information. They copy all the guest establishments off Booking.com and rent it out with a fee. Also not copying the correct information and lying about the facilities at the establishments. Don't book through them. Use trusted booking agencies. Most of the establishments on Trivago did not even register with Trivago or gave permission to advertise them.
