Dishonest and *********
The owner Ralph is dishonest. I was charged a call out and repair fee of R3800-00 for a leak of my fridge. According to him the pc board was faulty and had to be replaced. Within 3 days the exact same leak was detected. I called another company for assistance and discovered that the so-called pc board was not defective and is the exact same one he supposedly replaced. Luckily I took a photo I of the so-called faulty one which was proof thereof. When I contacted him he promised to return which never materialized.

They don't respond to Hello Peter as well. See the number of bad reviews and complaints against them on Hello Peter I noticed that my Defy dishwasher was leaking water, so on Friday, 27/12/2024, I filled out an enquiry form on their website. Within 20 minutes, I received a call from their team, confirming that a technician would be sent out in the morning. However, they arrived at 1 PM. Upon arrival, the technician tilted the machine and removed the bottom plate. He diagnosed the leak as being caused by the pump, although he mentioned that Defy pumps are generally reliable, and suggested that something like a toothpick may have caused the issue. The technician replaced the pump but failed to secure the *****s on the bottom plate, simply clipping it back into place. After repositioning the machine, they ran a short cycle and confirmed that no water was leaking from the bottom or front. I was charged R2,846.00 for the pump and R450.00 for labour with a six-Month guarantee. However, on 30/12/2024, I noticed the dishwasher was still leaking water. I contacted their company and was told someone would visit either that afternoon or the following morning, but no one showed up. We then investigated the issue ourselves and found that the leak was caused by a tear or hole in the drainpipe, not the pump. I sent WhatsApp messages and emails requesting a refund for the unnecessary pump replacement, but I have not received any response to date.

Terrible terrible terrible
Had my fridge repaired with a 6 month guarantee. 2 days later, fridge gave up again. I have been calling and whatsapping asking for someone to come out for the past month and a half…NOtHiNg. They promise to come out the next day.

TERRIBLE, DO NOT USE THEM. Had a mini fridge fixed...worked for 2 days. its been a week of phoning them to come fix this fridge again. false promises, disgusting customer service...AVOID!!

Useless repairs
Absolutely useless people. Charged me money to replace a part and dishwasher is still giving me the error code. They said they will come and repair it again but does not show up when they said they will. They are not returning my calls or messages. Refuses to give me a manager or owners number when they still did answer my calls. Never use them.

Useless repairs
Absolutely useless people. Charged me money to replace a part and dishwasher is still giving me the error code. They said they will come and repair it again but does not show up when they said they will. They are not returning my calls or messages. Refuses to give me a manager or owners number when they still did answer my calls. Never use them.

Ueseless Ralph with his old Jetta.
Don't use this company They came to repair my fridge but 3 days after the freezer stopped working. After reporting the problem to Ralph he made empty promises which never realized and now the phone is switched off. They are useless. They also arrive here not with a proper repair panel van or something but rather in an old worn VW Jetta. I should have known better.

Don't use this company They came to repair my fridge but 3 days after the freezer stopped working. After reporting the problem to Ralph he made empty promises which never realized and now the phone is switched off. They are useless. They also arrive here not with a proper repair panel van or something but rather in an old worn VW Jetta. I should have known better.

Tropical Repair Appliances - USELESS REPAIRERS - DO NOT USE THEM!
I contacted this service provider that was advertised as a Defy Agent on the internet to repair my freezer because it wasn't freezing. They had to come three times to do the repair and finally by-passed all the circuitry using loose wiring in order to get the freezer to work. They clearly know little about the electronic of the Defy Freezer. After the repair to the freezer, the fridge is now is freezing up and they refuse to take my calls and come out. They are advertised at https://johannesburg.infoisinfo.co.za/card/tropical-appliance-repairs-access-pvt-ltd/762480. I will NEVER use them again and need others to know that they are absolutely useless, charge you R3000 for a repair that is not completed and should not be advertising as DEFY agents. I have written to DEFY to complain about this and hopefully action against them will be taken.
