Gary Wium and Jaco Steyl are a *******ual couple that seem to flip properly. I fell victim when I rented from them. I have a lease agreement that is currently running with them that should only expire 31 January 2020 but they are trying to illegally evict me. I have been living under unhealthy conditions as the unit is infested with mould, rodents and damp. I addressed these issues to them ages ago and they did nothing about it. I gave birth mid- July 2019 which they were very aware of and told them that I will be going to spend my maternity leave in Kzn and that would be the best time to fix the mould, rodent, rotten cupboards ( through the damp) and repaint the flat while I was away and Gary agreed to this. He wanted to take the only keys I had to the flat and return them back to me upon my return frm Kzn but I insisted a copy be made which he was not happy about. I also reiterated that should he be bringing people in to paint he would have to always be there to supervise which he said he would. I left for Kzn (29 September 2019 after he also started being very pushy) and on the 24 October 2019 I received an email from his boyfriend Jaco Steyl terminating my contract became they claimed they had found a buyer for the unit and wanted me out. They were in breach of contract because clause 8.6 stated - The lessor has the right at anytime during the lease agreement to sell the property AND TO CARRY THE LEASE AGREEMENT TOO THE NEW OWNER OF THE PROPERTY. In a frenzy I was forced to leave my 3 month old baby that I’m breastfeeding and drive up to JHB because I was afraid of what was happening to my property as I saw my belongings being advertised on property 24 and private property, I left at 3am on Thursday 29th October 2019 with my sister to find my belongings missing from the unit the value of R16 500, things that I placed inside the cupboards where removed and placed out the cupboards, items that were outside the cupboard were now put inside the cupboard, my property was damaged, items frm my toilet that contained human **** were placed in the cupboard I used for my food and groceries as well as open rat poison grains were left with my food. There were disgusting stains on my bed, linen and couches. These people are scammers and have no respect for other human beings. Please be warned!!!!!
