This experience was a real crazy moment in my banking history. I liked the name Umpqua so I decided to open a personal account after all it really is my choice of how many bank accounts I want. I asked my finance manager who was assigned to my business to send one wire to check the account. Make sure I have all the details correct. He works with people around the world so laws are different in each country. Some countries allow personal accounts for business transactions. America frowns on this for some unknown reason of logic. Anyway my finance manager sent three wires and the account was auto frozen. The total was about $13,000.00 and to a bank rep that was a lot of money. I see hundreds of thousands of dollars in a short time from rich to poor and other needs. I said you would have had a heart attack if more money came in. My finance manager apologized. This didn't seem to mean anything to those nosy bankers. I was given the third degree and told I didn't maintain my account. I never got to use my account. Besides I don't work for the bank therefore I can't answer for my clients and they can't expect I should. A long story short I received my money and went on with my banking experiences elsewhere. No harm done right? Did this bank or any bank consider what the money was there for? Do they really have the right to ask what my money is for business or personal? Bankers seem to think once you have an account the business is theirs and I mean the money is no longer under my control. So read another review to get a full scope of the abuse I've endure in 8 months of my business life here in California.
